.

.

.

Case 13: Discussion Regarding Mr. Carson's Concept Of Extending
Utilities For Additional Residential Development:

Ms. Norris stated that there was a joint meeting of the Economic
Development Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission on June 9.
The concensus of those present at that joint meeting was to urge Council to
use tax increment financing to assist in extending utilities to that area
west of Flintwood Hills to allow for additional residential development.
It was also recommended that commitments to develop be obtained from all
property owners involved before proceeding.

Case 12: Update On Proposed MSA Road Alignment In Ramsey/Anoka
Industrial Area:

Commissioner Vevea stated that he met with Anoka City Engineer regarding
the establishment of an MSA road between Anoka and Ramsey's industrial
parks. He indicated there is more interest in obtaining MSA designation
and financing for a road going east from Thurston to Hwy. 147 than for a
road going west to Ramsey's border.

Commissioner Fults stated that Anoka Economic Development Commission and
Planning and Zoning Commission met a week ago and they concur with Ramsey's
idea to coordinate an MSA road through Anoka and Ramsey industrial parks;
they are interested in working towards quality, coordinated development in
that area and will be presenting their recommendation to Anoka's City
Council.

Chairman Greenberg noted that Anoka is in the process of platting their
industrial park and he wants to be sure Anoka is aware of Ramsey's proposed
alignment in order that the road between the two industrial parks will
coordinate.

Commissioner Fults dismissed himself from the meeting at 8:54 a.m.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Muller and seconded by Commissioner Hardin to
adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Gorecki,
Ippel, Wagner, Hardin, Muller and Vevea. Voting No: None. Absent:
Commissioners Fults and Kurak.

The meeting adjourned at 8:55 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

51. ,It. - '<?
o"-J,,""="~
Sylvia Frolik
Secretary

EDC/June 10, 1987
