Absent: <br />Commissioner Kurak. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg and Commissioner Ippe1 volunteered to meet with Mr. <br />Lundeen to explain in more depths Council's reasons for denial of a <br />residence above a business and other ways in which the City can be of <br />assistance. <br /> <br />Commission consensus was to place the Star City tasks business retention <br />programs on the next meeting agenda for further discussion. At that time, <br />the Commission should be provided with a list of Ramsey businesses and <br />information regarding when a development intern will be on staff and the <br />State's guidelines and requirments for doing a business retention program. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel requested that a discussion regarding a business <br />incubator concept be placed on the next agenda for discussion also. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case'l: Subcommittee Reports: <br /> <br />a) Legislative- <br /> <br />No report at this time. <br /> <br />b) Economic and Finance Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin stated that the Economic Development Company is <br />reviewing:with two different firmss the possibility of revolving loan fund <br />assistance. Confidentiality with respect to Company business is also being <br />researched and should be resolved soon. <br /> <br />c) Publicity Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippe1 stated that hes Commissioner Kurak and Ms. Norris have <br />developed an outline for the Ramsey Video; he and Commissioner Kurak have <br />furnished the pictures; the video should be complete and ready for use by <br />August 1. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that during the picture taking processs he had a <br />chance to talk with Chuck Delaney of Armstrong Kennels. Mr. DeLaney has <br />invited the City to set up a booth at this year's Game Fair that would be <br />equipped with a VCR so interested persons could view the Ramsey Video. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg directed Commissioner Ippe1 to research the cost to rent <br />a tent booth for use by the City at the Game Fair. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin stated that Discover Ramsey is scheduled for October 11 <br />at Ramsey Elementary School. The Company is in the process of determining <br />booth rental costs and preparing advertising and registration forms. <br /> <br />d) Joint Planning and Zoning/Economic Development Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Refer to Case '3. <br /> <br />EDC/June 10, 1987 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
