Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Ippel, <br />Fults, Hardin, Gorecki and Kurak. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Muller, Vevea and Wagner. <br /> <br />NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Commission noted the following: <br /> <br />1. Public hear1ng and spec1al City Council meeting minutes dated August <br />19, 1987. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Subcommittee Reports: <br /> <br />a) Legislative- <br /> <br />No report at this time. <br /> <br />b) Economic and Finance Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin reported that Anoka County action is still pending <br />regarding a request to the Economic Development Company for a revovling <br />loan from CDBG funds. <br /> <br />c) Publicity Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Mr. Raudio was present and noted that Commissioners Kurak and Ippel and Ms. <br />Norris worked very hard on the video of Ramsey and should be congratulated. <br />Mr. Raudio noted that the v1deo was d1splayed at the City's booth at the <br />Game Fair; video equipment was supplied and set up each day courtesy of <br />Carl Garaffa of Curtis Mathes Home Entertainment Center in Northdale <br />Shopping Center. Mr. Raudio also noted that Charles and Loral I. Delaney, <br />hosts of the annual Game Fair, were d1sappointed with the lack of City <br />support of the Game Fair. <br /> <br />Mr. Raudio suggested that the Economic Development Commission establish a <br />public relations committee to promote businesses in Ramsey and awareness of <br />the City of Ramsey as being the gateway to the Metro area and also to the <br />northwest. Mr. Raudio noted that when the Delaney's tried to advertise <br />Ramsey, rather than Anoka, as the location of their kennels and the Game <br />Fair, there was an adverse impact to his business because people thought he <br />had moved. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults noted that special recognition should go to Mr. Raudio <br />for organizing the City's booth at the Game Fair and manning it both <br />Econom1c Development Commission/September 9, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
