<br />~ <br /> <br />Community News <br /> <br />Ramsey Women of Today <br /> <br />The Ramsey Women of Today is a civic and social or- <br />ganization; a chapter of the national organization, Women of <br />Today. This spring, we have been busy helping our community. <br />In April, at the Ramsey Environmental Expo, we were proud <br />to work with Chris Anderson, Ramsey's Recycling and Zoning <br />Coordinator, to highlight our parl( recycling bin complete with <br />our logo and website on it. This recycling bin will be located <br />in a Ramsey park for use by the public. In May, we created <br />and donated a $500 Caty Hanson Memorial Scholarship for an <br />Anoka High School senior art student. In June, we held our <br />annual Basket Raffle at the Ramsey Lions Community Picnic. <br />Each basket was worth from $100-$250 and the following <br />people won the raffle baskets: Golf Basket-Shawn Nelson; <br />Garden Delight Basl(et- Kim Williams; Pamper Yourself <br />Basket-Kim Ballard; Evening on the Town (Limo ride) Basl(et- <br />Sarah Madsen and the Green Valley Greenhouse $90 Planter <br />Basket -Angie Wahl. <br />We would like to thank the following local businesses for <br />their contributions to the Basket Raffle: The Links at North- <br />fork, Rum River Hills Golf Club, Green Valley Greenhouse, <br />Bob's Country Market, M & L Gas, Movie Gallery, Shannon <br />Marie Salon-Day Spa, Broadway Limousine, Wing Nursery, <br />Serendipity-do-da, Peaceful Scents, Devon's Gardens and <br />Morton's Nursery, <br />Ramsey Women of Today meetings are held at Ramsey <br />City Hall every fourth Tuesday of each month (except Dec.) <br />at 7:00 p.m. Please join us for fun, friendship, and service or <br />contact Dawn @ 763.422.93510r Laura @ 763.753.0936 for <br />more information. <br /> <br />The Ramsey <br />Lions Community Picnic <br />Was a Great Success <br /> <br />The Ramsey Lions Club hosted the Annual <br />Community Picnic at Central Parl( on Saturday, June <br />3. The fantastic weather contributed to a fun day for <br />the many families that joined us. The Ramsey Lions <br />would lil(e to thanl( the many groups and individu- <br />als that contributed to this years event. Volunteering <br />their time were Cheerful Chuggers 4H Club, Cub <br />Scout Pack 362, Boy Scout Troop 362, Ramsey Se- <br />niors Club, and a number of individual volunteers. <br />Many groups participated with demonstrations and <br />information including Ramsey Fire, Ramsey Police, <br />Connexus Energy, Ramsey Women of Today, Girl <br />Scouts, PACT Charter School Robotics Club, and <br />Anoka Halloween Ambassadors. Thanks to the City <br />of Ramsey for helping with the park preparation <br />and usage.
