RAMSEY SENIOR CITIZENS

Forty-two members and friends were present for
the April 5th meeting of the Ramsey Senior Citizens
Club. Two members of the Ramsey Lions Club en-
joyed lunch with the Seniors that day. The Lions told
about the Community Picnic being planned for June
10 and the driving classes available to seniors on
April 12 and 26.
Eight of the Seniors volunteered to assist in the
May 6th Clean-Up Day events.
The Club welcomes five new members: Russ and
Lucy Hougaard, Mary and Milton Larson and Sylvia
Carter. The Club now boasts a membership of 50.
Chet and Gladys Tollefson told stories and show-
ed slides of their trip to Norway. Gladys even wore
a dress she purchased in Norway and thanks to the
Tollefson's, the Club had a very enjoyable afternoon.
The Club did miss Edith Kiekow on April 5th; she
was in the hospital and all members hope she is feel-
ing better and able to attend the meeting in May.
The Ramsey Seniors will be meeting again at noon
on Wednesday, May 3 for a potluck luncheon. The
Elk River Silver Tones will be providing the enter-
tainment. If you are interested in joining the Club,
or would like additional information, please call Zola
Malamen at 441-7841.

The Ramsey Lions Club will host the Governor's
Night meeting on May 3, 1989. The 1 st and 3rd
Wednesday nights are normally regular meeting
evenings, but on May 3rd, Lion President Leigh
Lundberg proclaimed this date to be Ladies Night
as well. Please mark your calendar at home, and
pass the invitation along to your partners to plan on
attending. This will be an evening of talks and
discussions for our Lions club members with the
District Governor and a get together for members
and their spouses.
PICNIC PLANNERS AT WORK

Two meetings for the 3rd Annual Ramsey Picnic
were held to plan this years gala event scheduled
for June 10. Featured again this year are: kid's rides,
games, activities, food and refreshments, the ribbon
cutting for the warming house, and local bands for
entertainment. The bingo tent will be as big as last
year's attraction, and most booths will be set up
within easier access and proximity. This event will
take the help of every Lion to make the event a suc-
cess. Please make the commitment to be a part of
the set-up and/or run a booth. This is going to take
a lot of Lion power!!!
RAMSEY SCHOOL
COLLECTING ALUMINUM CANS
MAY 12

Ramsey Elementary School is sponsoring their an-
nual Lugger Day, Friday, May 12. When you clean
up your part of the city, save your aluminum cans
and bring them to Ramsey School during the day
on May 12.
From the money that is raised through the collec-
tions of aluminum cans, Ramsey School is able to
support their computer lab. The money that has been
collected during this year has purchased software
that supports our school curriculum.
Next year we will be able to offer parents the op-
portunity to check out software from our lab to be
used at home.
Last year's Lugger Day brought in $1200. Through
the aluminum can collections, we are able to keep
our computer lab at Ramsey a competitive lab.
