<br />DISTRICT 11 NEWS <br /> <br />Three teachers from Anoka-Hennepin School District <br />11 won both first place awards presented this year in the <br />Minnesota Council on Economic Education Teaching <br />Awards Program. <br />Tom Cloutier and Linda Hancock, second grade <br />teachers at Ramsey Elementary School, and Bill <br />Mittlefehldt, social studies teacher at Anoka Senior High <br />School, received $600 prizes in the competition, which <br />was designed in part to honor outstanding teaching <br />practices and encourage teachers in all subject areas to <br />teach more economics. <br /> <br />ON THE GO (Trips lor all ages) <br /> <br />"Disney on Ice" - Target Center - <br />Thursday, March 28 $12.00 <br />Come and enjoy the Disney On Ice presentation at <br />the new Target Center. Register with Anoka-Hennepin Community <br />Education at 422-5324. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />SOFTBALL UMPIRES NEEDED <br /> <br />The Tri-City Umpires Association is looking for <br />interested people to work as softball umpires in adult and <br />youth softball leagues in the Anoka and Coon Rapids <br />areas. These leagues are all affiliated with the Amateur <br />Softball Association, and umpires will have to fulfill the <br />A.S.A. umpire requirements. All interested persons are invited to attend. <br />March 15, 1991 the PTA General Meeting will be <br />held at 7:00 p.m. in the Ramsey Elementary School <br />cafeteria. One of the topics for discussion will be the <br />Presentation of the PTA 1991-92 Budget. <br /> <br /> <br />MOMS IN TOUCH <br /> <br />There is an opportunity to become a part of a group <br />called Moms in Touch. This is a group of mothers who <br />meet for an hour on Mondays at 9:30 a.m. to intercede <br />on behalf of their children and the schools. Some duties whould include promoting all <br />PTA publications to its members and the community and <br />providing topic related PTA brochures at the PTA general <br />meetings. This committee has step-by-step guidelines to <br />accomplish the job of utilizing the vast resources the <br />Minnesota PTA and the National PTA offers. The cost is $1.00 per <br />person/per time to be paid on the scheduled evening. <br /> <br /> <br />BASKETBALL LOVER! <br /> <br />Ramsey Community Ed is looking for an adult <br />volunteer to supervise and play open teen basketball <br />games. The teens range in age 15-17 years.
