<br />vice reflects on the cross of Jesus. Grace
<br />Lutheran and Cross of Hope's choir will sing

<br />LORD OF LIFE PRESENTS

<br />SERIES ON "AIDS"
<br />
<br />Beginning April 1 0, a 3-part series will be presented
<br />by Lord of Life Lutheran Church at 9:30 AM. at
<br />Ramsey City Hall. The first presentation will be
<br />"AIDS: A Medical Perspective" with Dr. Clair
<br />Pomeroy from the VA Medical Center in Min-
<br />neapolis. Week 2 on April 17th explores "AIDS: A
<br />Christian Response" with Dr. Kenneth Hyatt, Ex-
<br />ecutive Director of Life Management Service in St.
<br />Paul. Then on April 24th, Rose Diestler will conclude
<br />the series with her presentation, "AIDS: The Gift of
<br />Dave's Life." In this final presentation, a sensitive,
<br />poignant story of the life and legacy of a young man
<br />who died of AIDS will be shared by his mother. In
<br />doing this, she is fulfilling his strong desire to be
<br />straight forward about his disease to help others to
<br />understand and cope with the many facets of this
<br />illness.

<br />KEY COMMUNICATOR/CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM
<br />BEGINS IN RAMSEY
<br />
<br />The Key Communicator/Crime Prevention Program
<br />is off to a good start in Ramsey. Several
<br />neighborhood meetings are scheduled for March,
<br />April and May.
<br />
<br />The goals of the Key Communicator Program are:
<br />
<br />. To provide citizens with information and
<br />answer questions about current events of the
<br />City such as development, Public Parks,
<br />school issues and any other issue that citizens
<br />want to discuss.
<br />
<br />. To increase understanding about local govern-
<br />ment procedures and who is who at City Hall.
<br />
<br />· To increase awareness of crime prevention
<br />techniques.
<br />
<br />· To increase cooperative interaction between
<br />the police department, city, school district and
<br />community.
<br />
<br />· To increase premise security in order to
<br />reduce crime.
<br />

<br />SPRING COMMUNITY EDUCATION CLASSES STARTING SOON
<br />
<br />Registration for Spring Community Education
<br />classes will be held April 4th through the 15th. The
<br />School District #11 Community Education Brochure
<br />will be mailed to all residents of District #11 on March
<br />25 and includes preschool, teen and adult programs.
<br />
<br />RAMSEY LIONS CLUB
<br />
<br />Your Ramsey Lions Club has made several recent
<br />donations from the profits obtained from their
<br />charitable gambling activities. They include $500
<br />donated to ABLE (organization providing recrea-
<br />tional and education funds for blind youths), $500
<br />to the Lions youth exchange program, $250 to the
<br />Anoka senior graduation party, $250 to the Elk River
<br />senior graduation party, $300 to the Anoka County
<br />Library for summer programs for children to be held
<br />at the new Rum River Branch Library in Ramsey.
<br />The Lions have also authorized four $750 scholar-
<br />ships for Ramsey graduating seniors at Anoka High
<br />School (2) and Elk River High School (2).
<br />The Ramsey Lions have been planning several
<br />major fundraising and community events for this
<br />spring and summer. They are:
<br />
<br />. April 16th - Spring dance scheduled at the Par-
<br />ty House. We will be having a band that all can
<br />enjoy, a senior citizens musical group will also
<br />entertain the crowd. The Lions will also raffle
<br />'a color TV that evening. Everyone is welcome
<br />for an evening of fun and entertainment.
<br />Tickets are available from your Lion neighbor
<br />or at the door.
<br />
<br />. April 27th - AWA professional wrestling fund
<br />raiser to be held at the Anoka Ramsey Com-
<br />munity College in Coon Rapids. This should be
<br />a fun evening of entertainment. Seats will be
<br />priced at $10 (ringside), $7 (adult), $5
<br />(students), and $3 for children under 12 years
<br />old. There is only seating for 1500 people so
<br />contact your local Lion if you would like to buy
<br />tickets for your family. Tickets will also be
<br />available at M & L Liquor, Jimmy B's (Lions
<br />booth) and other sites to be announed later.
<br />
<br />. June 12th - The 2nd Annual Ramsey Lions
<br />Summer Community Event for all the citizens
<br />of Ramsey is tentatively scheduled at Ramsey
<br />Central Park. Mark this date on your calendar.
<br />This year's event should be even bigger and
<br />better than last year's extraveganza.
<br />

<br />SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB
<br />
<br />A delicious potluck lunch was enjoyed by 30
<br />members and friends of the Ramsey Senior Citizens
<br />Club on March 2nd. Milt Anderson of the Ramsey
<br />Lion's Club distributed tickets to those seniors in-
<br />terested in attending the March 13th Lion's Club
<br />breakfast. The seniors greatly appreciate all that the
<br />Lion's Club have done.
<br />Elaine Vangerud spoke about the Senior
<br />Befriender's Program. After a short business
<br />meeting, Andy led the group in songs, accompanied
<br />by Edith on piano. Then penny bingo was played
<br />which made for a fun afternoon.

<br />R.Y.A.A. Monthly Meeting has been changed to
<br />April 4th.
<br />April 4th is the date of the next Ramsey Youth
<br />Athletic Association's monthly meeting. It will be held
<br />at Ramsey City Hall at 7:30 p.m.
<br />This months meeting will include discussion on the
<br />following:
<br />1) Pancake Breakfast summary
<br />2) Coaching ethics
<br />3) Progress on Sponsorship programs
<br />4) Spring & Summer Sport budgets
<br />Directors of Spring & Summer Sports along with
<br />coaches should try to attend. Parents are always

<br />The Anoka County Home Study Groups will be awar-
<br />ding one $100 scholarship this year for students
<br />planning to complete a degree in Home Economics;-
<br />
<br />Requirements for application are:
<br />
<br />1. Anoka County residents and/or attends an
<br />Anoka County high School.
<br />2. Pursuing a 4 year degree in Home Economics
<br />(Home Economics areas include: food and
<br />nutrition, interior design, child development,
<br />family relations and education).
<br />3. Evidence of need.
<br />
