The real plus
is that these lots are lower in price compared to land
in other suburban areas which offers the home buyer
the opportunity to place more investment in the
home than in the land.
We would like to note that 5 Ramsey homes were
featured in this year's Parade of Homes. Two of
those 5, constructed by Custom Builders and Interior
D.esig!1, Inc. and A.J. Parent Construction, were Reg-
gie winners.

Valuation
A. It was noted that Ham Lake is re-
questing Ramsey's support of their resolution re-
questing legislation that would indemnify local units
of government from the liability that might occur as
a result of land use regulations imposed by higher
agencies; City Attorney Goodrich was directed to
review Ham Lake's resolution and report back to
Council.

Council met on October 27 and granted final plat
approval to Boser's Evergreen Estates consisting of
SIX lots and located east of Variolite and north of
171 st. The
Council authorized amending the development
agreement with Plants and Things to grant a
variance to blacktopping until the operator becomes
the legal owner of the property; applying decorative
facing to the new building is extended to June 30,
1988; off-street loading will be provided on the north
side of the subject building; the building will be us-
ed for storage/warehouse/display purposes only.
Council requested that the Park Commission recom-
mend a policy establishing concessions rights at
Central Park. Council approved the following im-
provements at Central Park in 1987: electrical ser-
vice for a warming house and hockey rink; 6" well;
installation of phone service; two satellite toilets for
four months; material for 12 warming house benches
with labor donated; wood walkways; rubber matting
for warming house; lease of a temporary warming
house; hockey rink lighting; hockey goal nets with
donated frames to be pursued. Terry Miller of Waste Manage-
ment, Inc. was present requesting that their two year
grading and excavating permit due to expire
November 26, 1987 be extended to April 10, 1988
to coincide with the date the permit was actually
signed, April 10, 1986; Council scheduled a public
hearing for November 10 regarding the request. Re-
cent problems with truck traffic from Northfork were
discussed and the City requested that Northfork ap-
point one person to coordinate their traffic.
