DO SOMETHING SPECIAL
THIS YEAR

Develop talents that you never knew you had.
Build leadership skills that will help you advance in
your career. Explore new interests. Gain the ex-
perience you need to get a job. Make new friends.
Best of all, you can do this while helping the young
people in your community. Be a 4-H adult volunteer.
As a volunteer, you take a few hours each month
and share your hobbies and skills with young peo-
ple. Do you like to cook ethnic foods? Tinker with
small engines? Direct plays? Plan fashion shows?
Wherever your interest lies, there's an opportunity
for you in 4-H. Any adult (whether in college, retired,
or any age between) can be a volunteer. You don't
need to be a former 4-H'er. All you need is the desire
to help young people while you hone the skills and
talents you already have.
For more information about adult opportunites in
the 4-H program, call the Anoka County Extension
Service at 755-1280.
QUAD CITY CABLE MEETING

One item on the agenda for the May meeting of
the Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission
is the subject of little used public access and com-
munity channels. These channels may be eliminated
or re-assigned because they have since found larger
audiences on other cable channels.
Any change in the Basic Tier line-up will be made
with the intent to improve our cable system while
keeping in mind its informative and entertainment
value.
DOGS....DOGS....DOGS....

The City is constantly receiving complaints of dogs
being a nuisance. The most common complaint is
dogs 'running at large'. The City ordinance states
that dogs must be confined. In the country, where
there is more room, homeowners do like having a
pet, but they also must remember that they do have
neighbors who do like to take care of their lawns and
dogs running at large are most annoying. Again, we
remind you to KEEP YOUR DOG KENNELED OR
ON A LEASH!
