Andover Athletic Association
To Hold A Fund Raiser

! I

A large event is being planned in the life of the Andover
Athletic Association, and how it obtains important funding
for youth programs in the community. What's happening?
The Association is planning a large city-wide yard sale
where residents can help by' donating used items to the
sale. All items donated are tax deductible based upon resale
value. Items donated can include household items, rugs, fur-
niture, small appliances, skates, skis, bicycles, toys, books,
. pictures, plants, tools, lawn furniture, sports eqauipment,
camping equipment, TVs, radios, dishes, glassware, and
hundreds of other miscellaneous items (no clothing please).
Items should be in working order.
So plan.your spring clean-up now, then donate unwanted
items to the sale. June 1 through 11 is established for
pickup and/or delivery of items to the sale location (see con-
signment form). June 12 and 13 are scheduled as sale days.
Plan now to save items for the sale, geta tax deduction, and
in the process help fund important youth programs in the
f community. Help make this a successful event. Call Gary
Shay at 757-2360 if you have questions.
Mail in the consignment form befor.e June 1. _
In another fund drive, members of the Association and
participants will also be seeking $1 donations in a campaign
to raise additional financial resources. This campaign can
also provide an opportunity to win some valuable prizes. The
Association appreciates your consideration if you are con-
tacted.
REGISTRATION NEWS'
Softball and in-house soccer registrations are now com-
plete.Over seven softball teams will be formed which will
represent Andover. These teams will play their games in An-
dover and in Coon Rapids. The association is antictpating a
fine season with the expectations that additional teams will
be included next season.
In-house soccer did not reach its first year expectations
for the 1985 summer recreation program. The Association
will revisit the'soccer criteria and develop expanded plans
for future consideration. In any' event, additional volunteers
are needed to broaden the base.
Information about the Association and it goals is contain-
ed in a new information pamphlet available at the Andover
City Hall and Crooked Lake Community School. Stop in and
pick up a copy.
