ANOKA PLANNING
COMMISSION PROCEDURES
With the summer construc-
tion season fast approaching,
the City of Anoka would like
to make it known that apply-
ing for development permits
through the Planning Com-
mission is not a difficult pro-
cess. It begins with discuss-
ing your idea or planned con-
cept with the Community
Development Department.
Such an approach ensures
that the applicants have con-
sidered all the possible
angles of the development.
If special approval is requir-
ed, as in the case of a vari-
ance, conditional use, or sub-
division, the applicant must
appear before the Planning
Commission, which meets on
the first Tuesday of every
month. Decisions of the Plan-
ning Commission are finaliz-
ed by the City Council on the
third Monday of each month.
Please remember that the
length of time needed' to re-
view the application, make a
planning staff report, prepare
a .presentation, publish
notices, and present the ap-
plications to the Planning
Commission and City Council
takes less than a month. To
ensure the continuation of
this efficient process, please
submit adequate plans. Feel

free to request an update on
your proj~ct's status, or seek
additional information.
with questions on this pro-
cedure or development in-
quiries in general are:
Watermain
Flushing

L-1.~

The city of Anoka water
department will flush water-
mains during a one week
period beginning April. 29,
1985. This work is expected to
continue until May 3, 1985.
There will be no watermain
flushing on Saturday or Sun-
day during this period.
The 'flushing will create a
disturbance in the system and
may cause dark colored
water. Although the water is
fit for human consumption,
there is the risk of staining
clothing .in the wash. Clothes
washing should be' avoided
on the days flushing is done.
Flushing will begin at 5 a.m.
and will take place according
to the dates indicated on the
map.
The effectiveness of this
work is impaired if an area is
bypassed or if the flushing is
interrupted. We regret the in-
convenience and ask that
parents make their children
.aware of the utility crews.
Note: Flushing will be done
on Mondays.
