In
order to prevent any undue

~k
.

What is a public hearing

Public hearings are held by
the City for various reasons.
Sometimes it's because your
neighbor would like to build a
accessory building larger
than allowed by City or.
dinance, or sometimes it's
regarding an entirely new
developement that is being
planned. These are just a cou-
ple of examples of why a hear-
. ing is called.
It is so frustrating when no
one shows up and later we
hear residents say " That's
the first I heard about this" or
"When did they do that?"
The City is required to
notify land owners by letter,
within 350' of the subject pro-
perty, and through a legal
notice printed in the Anoka
County Union. However, due
to various reasons, you could
still be affected, but not meet
the criteria for receiving
notification by letter. A
subscription to the Anoka
County Union is a small in-
vestment to insure you are
aware of all legal publications
in Ramsey.
Not all notices are crystal
clear. Some contain a legal
description (S.W. V2 of N.E. V2 .
of a line 500 feet etc.) instead
of an address. If you aren't
sure what's going on after
reading the notice, call
Ramsey Municipal Center.
Hearings are for informa-
tion and the opportunity for
residents to be heard.

r't
.t6t
!JR!.,.
~~'

..~ ,.......
~.~IIi..'"
.,.~

hardship, you 'may obtain up
to ten permits at a time. Upon
their return you may acquire
an additional ten.
Certification is not required
at the present time. However,
if the information we receive
is deficient and continues to
be deficient, we will have to
consider a certification pro-
gram.
Inasmuch as information
sought on the permit form is
essential for the keeping of
minimum records in order to
comply with the re-
quirements of the M.W.C.C.,
we would ask that you ask for
help if there is any required in-
formation that you are unable
to obtain.

The following is an excerpt to comply with any order
form the City Code regarding given under the terms of this
open burning.
