<br />Registration for girl's Jr. High Softball
<br />will be held at the Ramsey School on April
<br />19th and 20th, 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
<br />Girls living in Ramsey and now in grades
<br />7-8-9 are welcome. Call Jack Beissel for

<br />There is still room for more boys in the RYAA
<br />Summer Softball program. Boys now in grades
<br />5-12 are eligible. If you live in Ramsey and

<br />GIRL'S SR. HIGH SOFTBALL
<br />If enough girls sign-up there will be a slow
<br />pitch softball program for Sr. High girls.

<br />TRAVELERS
<br />
<br />The Anoka B-1 Travelers sponsored by Mate
<br />Punch & Die finished their season with a Super
<br />record.
<br />Making it to district playoffs the B-1's
<br />first challenger was Coon Rapids as Anoka beat
<br />them 5-1. Scoring for Anoka were Brent Johnson
<br />unassisted, J.C. Green assisted by Steve Gamec,
<br />Chris Weiss assisted by Steve Bollman and
<br />Jeff Ortel with two goals, one assisted by
<br />Dave Myer. Goalie T.J. Carlson did a fine
<br />job in holding Coon Rapids down.
<br />The second ga.e the 8-1's went up against
<br />the undefeated Princeton as Anoka beat the.
<br />3-0. Scoring for Anoka were Chris Weiss
<br />assisted by Brent Johnson and Steve Gamec came
<br />through with two goals, one assisted by Jeff
<br />Ortel. With a shut out, Goalie Shawn Zaudtke
<br />did a super job stopping Princeton's 24 shots.
<br />In the last game for the honor to play in
<br />the Championship game, Anoka beat Centennial
<br />8-3. Scoring for Anoka is a mystery to this
<br />reporter because I forgot tu write down who
<br />scored. Goalie T.J. Carlson had an easy
<br />time stopping Centennial.
<br />The Championship game to fo to regions was
<br />a barn burner. Anoka fell to St. Cloud 2-1.
<br />Scoring for Anoka with a break away was Chris
<br />Weiss unassisted. With shots on goal 23-23,
<br />Shawn Zaudtke did a super job as goalie.
<br />Playing their last Tournament, the Anoka
<br />pumpkin classic the B-1's carne in looking
<br />good. Beating St. Croix 8-0 goalie T.J.
<br />Carlson had yet another shut out. Scoring in
<br />the game were Mark Westman two goals, Dave
<br />Myer, Steve Gamec with two, Jeff Ortel with
<br />two, Brent Johnson and Steve Bollman. The
<br />assists carne from Jeff Greer, Steve Gamec
<br />with two, Jeff Ortel with two, Chris Weiss
<br />and Brent Johnson.
<br />The second game was not to easy to get.
<br />The game ended in overtime with Anoka 4,
<br />Brooklyn Park -3. The first to score for
<br />Anoka was Steve Gamec with an assist from
<br />Dave Myers. Jeff Greer added one with the
<br />assist corning from Larry Hovind. As did
<br />Mark Westman unassisted. The tie breaker
<br />carne from Chris Weiss assisted by Brent
<br />Johnson.
<br />The third and final game for the Cham-
<br />pionship was Anoka vs. Rochester. Anoka lost
<br />to Rochester 2-1. The one goal was scored
<br />by Chris Weiss unassisted. The B-1's carne out
<br />with second place but could hold their
<br />heads high. They played fantastically.
<br />My thanks and appreciation goes out to

<br />CANADIANS
<br />
<br />The Canadians after placing first in the
<br />house league division, received an invitation
<br />to play against other 1st and 2nd place teams
<br />in an Invitational Tournament March 21st-26th.
<br />On Monday, March 21st, the Canadians played
<br />their first game in the tournament in which
<br />they tied the Osseo Hawks 3-3. The Canadians
<br />took the lead in the game play, with a goal by
<br />Troy Seibert assisted by Ryan West. The Hawks
<br />carne back with two goals which gave them the
<br />lead. But the Canadians made a comeback when
<br />Troy Seibert and Ryan West combined efforts
<br />for the 2nd goal which ied the ga.e 2-2. Ra.-
<br />sey took the lead when Andrew Karlsen scored
<br />late in the ga.e. however. this didn't ~rcye
<br />to be enough to win the ga.e as the Osseo
<br />Hawks scored and tied the ga.e 3-3.
<br />Goalie Matt Kelsey did a super job de-
<br />fending the nets. All the Canadians played a
<br />great game and as parents and coaches we're
<br />very pro~d of them.
<br />The second game played in the Invitational
<br />was a victory. for the Canadians with a final
<br />score of 4-2 over the Wilson Bruins.
<br />The Canadians took the lead in the game
<br />with a goal by Ryan West assisted by Troy
<br />Seibert. The Wilson Bruins got in the
<br />game shortly after with a goal which tied the
<br />sc~re 1-1. The second goal for the Ra.sey
<br />Canadians was .ade by Andrew Karlsen again
<br />assisted by Troy Seibert. Wilson came ~ack
<br />with a goal to tie the score 2-2. The Cana-
<br />dians wouldn't stand still for a tie game and
<br />carne back with two more goals in the last
<br />period. The third goal made by Sean Kruja and
<br />the fourth and final goal made by Andrew
<br />Karlsen assisted by Troy ~eibert. The Wilson
<br />Bruins had a lot of shots on goal but out
<br />goalie. Matt Kelsey, did a great job keeping
<br />the puck out of the net.

<br />It was early but the Canadians were wide
<br />awake when Troy Seibert assisted by Ryan West
<br />put in their second goal. However New Brigh-
<br />ton was not going to be shut out of the game
<br />and carne back with a goal of their own. That
<br />sparked Chad Gresbowiak to take the puck on a
<br />break away for an unassisted goal for the
<br />
<br />BLACK HAWKS
<br />
<br />March 6, 1983 - In their final game of reg-
<br />ular season play, the Hawks had an 8-1 win
<br />over the Wilson Redwings. The Hawks went in
<br />for the first goal with Mark Hetland skating
<br />in from the blue line. Jason Reinholz made
<br />the next two goals tipping one in from the
<br />face off. Todd Dusosky connected for a goal
<br />as did Ryan Kelsey putting it in unassisted.
<br />Sean Cameron placed the puck in the nets ona
<br />super rebound shot. Mike Pozega got control
<br />of the puck and skated it full ice length to
<br />put us on the scoreboard 7-1. Mark Hetland
<br />made the final goal as he stole the puck from
<br />the Redwings and shot it in for the 8-1 win.
<br />Our goal tender for the game, Tony Bianchi-
<br />Rossi, did a super job defending the nets.

<br />March 18, 1983 - The Blackhawks entered the
<br />play-offs in 2nd place and had a winning finish
<br />over the Lincoln Flyers in their first game.
<br />Mark Hetland and Jason Reinholz both had a
<br />fantastic game as each player hac a hattriCK
<br />for the night. Matt Davis put ir. the last
<br />goal as the clock was running out for a
<br />7-2 victory. Matt Davis. Ryan Kelsey and
<br />Jason Reinholz each had assists in the game.
<br />Todd Dusosky was the goalie for the game
<br />doing a great job letting in only two shots.

<br />Canadians. The Canadians continued their hot
<br />streak when Troy Seibert assisted by Heath
<br />Peterson scored giving Troy a hat trick and
<br />the Canadians their fourth goal. The Cana-
<br />dians continued to skate hard with Chad Gres-
<br />bowiak assisted by Shane Mikkelson scoring

<br />After their thrilling victory in the lorning.
<br />the Ramsey Canadians played in the championship
<br />game (Stanley Cup) on Saturday aFternoon against
<br />Moundsview.
<br />The game started out at a fast and furious
<br />pace with both teams having excellent shots on
<br />goal however, both goalies were playing equally
<br />as well keeping the puck out of the nets.
<br />Finally Moundsview broke the deadlock by
<br />scoring their first goal of the ga.e. which
<br />was followed by two lore unanswered goals be-
<br />fore the Canadians ~ot en the s:~reboard vhe~
<br />Ryan West scored the Canaoians first goal. -!
<br />Moundsview tea. didn't let up and caee batk
<br />with two more goals beFore Troy Seibert was
<br />able to score the second goal for the Canadians.
<br />Moundsview kept theri scoring drive alive with
<br />three more unanswered goals before Andrew Karl-
<br />sen scored the third and final goal for the
<br />Canadians. However the Canadians continued to
<br />play hard. even though Moundsview added one

<br />" the season the Blackhawks were able to defeat
<br />the Cha.plin-Dayon Canadians in a 6-4 victory
<br />to secure 3ro place in the play-offs. ~ike

<br />an assist from Jason Reinholz. Receiving a
<br />pass from Dean Karlsen, Mark Hetland was able
<br />to make a corner shot for the 2nd goal. As
<br />the two teams scrambled for possession of the
<br />puck in front of the nets, Matt Davis was able
<br />to put it away with help fro. Todd Dusosky
