I have collected everything I could to do this. <br /> <br />March 15, 5584 <br /> <br />Mission a€complished. <br />I am now ready to go back for life in the past. <br /> <br />March 21, 1983, <br />I have found life here, but now I have to find an assistant to come back with me. From <br />house to house live been searching for an assistant but nobody will come. But, suddenly a <br />woman who wanted to leave this place. So I reached her and asked h~r to come with me. In <br />it's first year in the league the team com- <br />piled an 8-1 record. The league consisted <br />of 11 teams and the games were played at Fred <br />Moore and Northdale Jr. High. <br />The players met last fall at Ramsey Elem. <br />School and formed their winning combination. <br />Their only loss was to the league Champs <br />95-87. <br />The team was lead in scoring by Nick Combs <br />who average 25+ points per game. 41so scoring <br />well and turning in good performances were <br />Tim Johnson, Bob Anderson, Will Dague, Ralph <br />Peters and the old timer of the group, Jim <br />Sommers. <br /> <br />-Jim Sommers <br /> <br />I would like to thank the people who <br />have sent in articles for their time <br />and effort. They have made this sports <br />page. <br />-Karen Weiss <br /> <br />BASKETBALL <br /> <br /> <br />Ramsey Tempest 7th Grade Basketball Champoins <br /> <br />The Ramsey Tempest coached by Cory Hakola <br />finished the year with victory over the Coon <br />Rapids Eagles to become the 7th Grade Basket- <br />ball Tournament Champions. <br />The path to the championship began with ~he <br />Ramsey Tempests over the Coon Rapids Cardinals <br />45-42 followed by beating the Coon Rapids <br />Orioles, the division 2 champions 37-34 and to <br />defeating the Ramsey Lighting Bolts 39-32 <br />then on to the final game of the playoffs, the <br />Ramsey Tempests 45 over the Coon Rapids Eagles <br />40. <br />Craig Sandness finished the year with 158 <br />points and Kyle Hakola scored 156 points. <br />Four players had averages of 10 or more points. <br />Despite losing three close games during the <br />season the Tempest finished in first place <br />with contributions from everyone for excep- <br />tional team efforts. <br />The coach, Cory Hakola, is a student at' <br />Golden Valley Lutheran, his roommate, Neil <br />Bakke assisted him as time permitted. When <br />asked how it felt to take the championship <br />during his first experience at coaching <br />Hakola replied: ''It I S great but the most fun <br />was the practice sessions. The guys were <br />excellent to work with and coach.
