<br />CHURCH ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />'HAVE A <br />LITTLE HEART' <br /> <br />Anytime little t.T. would feel love or <br />bring "life" back his heart would light up. <br />It would shine as red as any valentine or as <br />red as the blood that dripped at Golgatha. <br />We knew everything was going to be alright <br />when the warm glow of E.T.'s heart shone for- <br />th, that same morning glow that gave warmth <br />to a cold and empty tomb. Neil Diamond has a <br />song out based upon E.T. 's expression of love <br />and life called "Heart Light". Somehow he <br />tries to tell us that each person should be <br />aware of this potential. This ability to make <br />a "heart lightll visible in all that we do <br />and say. <br />The heart is a Christian symbol, my heart, <br />your heart, and even E. T.'s heart is the <br />source of our love and being. It is the place <br />where mountains (real and imaginary) can be <br />moved. It is the reason why so many people <br />remain firm in their convictions. It is <br />this same "Heart Light" that Jesus came to <br />transform. Let your light so shine was a- <br />nother way of telling us that we have "heart <br />gifts" to give away. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Now heart rifts can't be bought. Money <br />really can't measure "heart gifts." A smile, <br />a friendly work, a sympathetic nod are price- <br />les~ li!tle treasures of heart gifts. Heart <br />light people give heart revealed gifts. You <br />always_remember a person who considers you <br />more than you consider yourself and tells you <br />so. You like to be around that person who is <br />thoughtful and kind. The joy of heart gifts <br />is that you must share them. It is impossible <br />to keep of hide heart gifts. The heart light <br />giver finds rich recompense in giving heart <br />gifts away. It is in that giving that enables <br />the heart to light up. <br /> <br />Jesus has a lot of heart. He gave it away. <br />In fact He broke His heart to heal ours. <br />Jesus' love for us is a fact apart from our <br />feelings about it. His heart light is always <br />shining even when ours becomes the "burnt <br />out" case. That is the wonder of it all. I <br />guess it means we don't have to beat our <br />heads against the wall anymore. We can take <br />it easy and know we are loved. That knowledge <br />forces us to realize our responsibility in <br />sharing our "heart gifts."
