<br />HAPPENINGS <br /> <br />RAMSEY RANGER'S <br /> <br />Join the Ramsey Rangers just for the fun ot <br />it! The Rangers were founded 18 years ago as a <br />learning and fun club for the whole family. <br />Many children have and are learning to ride at <br />ages two years and up. The club has a special <br />class for these young riders called Lead Line, <br />with parents and club members helping these <br />little tots learn to love horses and also <br />teach them the proper way to ride. <br />Many times we have had families become in- <br />volved in the club because of the childrens <br />desire to have and ride horses, but when mom <br />and dad come to the shows and see some of us <br />old fuddy duddys out there still competing and <br />having a good time they are ready to put on <br />the old blue jeans and join in. <br />There are basic riding rules in the club <br />but we feel that we are unique because every- <br />thing is centered around learning and enjoying <br /> <br />ANOKA CHRISTIAN <br />WOMEN'S CLUB <br /> <br />The Anoka County Christian Women's Club <br />meets on the first Thursday of each month for <br />brunch. It is at these meetings <br />you will be able to join the club. <br />Our. club membership dues and fees are also <br />family oriented! The Mother Earth Chapters are set up for <br />groups of people that are interested in small <br />homesteads, do-it yourself projects, gardening <br />self sufficiency, barter, helping each other, <br />doing things for the community, etc. The group <br />shares ideas, knowledge, skills, etc. so all <br />can learn to do more for themselves. <br />There would be meetings once or twice a <br />month for two or three hours. Cost would be <br />less that $2.00 a month and could be free. <br />Robbinsdale has a chapter (chapter 5) that <br />has been going strong for nearly two years., <br />The benefits are many and their group is <br />growing. <br />A minimum of 15 people or families will be <br />needed to start a local chapter. Interested <br />persons can call Bob Sanders 427-7263 for <br />more information and to proclaim their inter- <br />est. On Saturday, <br />April 2nd our club will be sponsoring a car wash at the City Hall <br />from lOam - 4pm. The proceeds from this project will be used to support <br />the Lions 5M International Hearing Center located at the University of <br />Minnesota, the Minn. Lions Eyebank and the Childrens Eye Clinic. <br />I would like to remind you to watch the Lions telethon on KSTP-TV, <br />Channel 5, March 19th and 20th. There will be performances by Shari <br />Lewis, Bob McGrath and many other national stars. <br />Other up-coming activities of the Ramsey Lions are a Bingo nite for <br />the residents of Maple M&nor Nursing Home on February 9th and a Mystery <br />nite on March 5th. <br />If you are interester..in becoming a member, please contact Bob Muller <br />at Super Value, Brad Dahl at 427-5778 or any of the members. <br /> <br />-Brad Dahl <br /> <br />RYAA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Youth Athletic Association (RYAA) <br />is looking for a girl's softball director, <br />grades 3-6. Duties consist of scheduling the <br />coaches meeting, dispensing equipment and <br />working on the tournament. Any interested <br />parent is asked to call Jack Beissel at <br />753-1041. <br />Mark your calendar - - Annual Pancake <br />Breakfast will be March 27, 1983. You may re- <br />gister for baseball, girl's softball, boy's <br />softball and soccer at the breakfast in the <br />lower level of City Hall. <br />Believe it or not-- Some 9th grade baseball <br />uniforms were not returned after the season <br />ended last summer.
