ADVISORY COUNCIL NEWS Three new officers were ele-eted to the Ramsey School Advisory Council at their November meeting. The offices were filled as follows: Chairperson Elect . . . . Scott DeLong Secretary . . . . . . . . . . Kathi Peterson Treasurer ........ Dorothy Stadfelt This year's Chairperson is Jim Stroschein. The new officers are new additions to the council _this year. Their interest and leadership will be welcome addition to a very dedicated group. The Advisory Council meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at Ramsey School. They serve as the main communication link between school and community and ar~ set up to deal with issues and concerns of both the day school (K:4) program and the community education program. . WINTER PROGRAM The 1981 Winter Schedule of Community Education classes for pre-school and adult will be mailed out during the last week in December. The Youth Program brochure will be sent home with Ramsey students during the second week of January. Registration will be held according to the following schedule: Pre-school and adult classes Mail-in, December 29-January 12 Phone-in & In-person, Jan. 14-15 Classes are scheduled to begin during the third week in January. Watch for the Community Education brochures in the mail and at Ramsey School. If you do not receive one, call Ramsey Community School at 427-9350. We'll assist in getting one to you. RAMSEY POLICE OFFICER RECEIVES AWARD Officer Tom Anderson of the Ramsey Police Department was presented with an award in October for his outstanding service to Ramsey School. Fourth grade student Mike Auspos presented the award on behalf of all the students and teachers. Officer Anderson has been making presentations to the students at Ramsey for over five years. His presentations deal with school bus safety, bike safety and a variety of other topics. In addition to this. Officer Anderson has taught First Aid, CPR and Drug and Alcohol Awareness seminars to adults as well as youth in the Ramsey area. . This winter, Anderson plans to hold a Heart Saver course and a Basic Cardiac Life Support Course for adults as well as a Basic First Aid course for students. These classes are sponsored by the City of Ramsey Police Department and Ramsey Community School For more information call 427-9350. MOVIE MATINEE Saturday, December 13,1980 12:00 noon at RAMSEY SCHOOL "BENJI" A delightfully unique motion picture of love and suspense that could easily become a classic. Benji is a fresh and exciting kind of film that tells its story completely from a dog's point-of-view as he struggles to communicate a piece of 'important knowledge to some people he loves. ADMISSION: 50' POPCORN: 10' CUB SCOUT PACK 362 Cub Scout Pack 362 met for their first monthly pack meeting of the school year on Thursday, October 23rd at the Ramsey School Cafeteria. Badges were presented to thirty of the cub scouts, who earned them by completing the necessary requirements in the Cub Scout Program. The special feature for the evening was a dramatic presentation by the Isanoka Order of the Arrow Dance Team, made up of five' 'Chiefs", four "Squaws" and one "Brave". A good time was had by all as we joined in a special Indian Dance, forming a "snake" led by District Commissioner Dan Niven and Cubmaster John Newbolt. Parents and siblings of the cubs even joined in the fun.
