<br />ADVISORY COUNCIL NEWS <br /> <br />Three new officers were ele-eted to <br />the Ramsey School Advisory Council <br />at their November meeting. <br />The offices were filled as follows: <br />Chairperson Elect . . . . Scott DeLong <br />Secretary . . . . . . . . . . Kathi Peterson <br />Treasurer ........ Dorothy Stadfelt <br />This year's Chairperson is Jim <br />Stroschein. The new officers are new <br />additions to the council _this year. <br />Their interest and leadership will be <br />welcome addition to a very dedicated <br />group. <br />The Advisory Council meets <br />monthly on the second Tuesday of the <br />month at Ramsey School. They serve <br />as the main communication link <br />between school and community and <br />ar~ set up to deal with issues and <br />concerns of both the day school (K:4) <br />program and the community <br />education program. . <br />This year's membership includes: <br />Karol Andreasen <br />Darlene Boje <br />Scott DeLong <br />Rose Drake <br />Pat Eggers <br />Mary Ann Madzey <br />Marc Hadley, Ex-officio <br />Paul Reifenberger, Ex-officio <br />Kathi Peterson <br />Jean Schlueter <br />Jim Stroschein <br />Myrna Stroschein <br />Wendy Studer <br />Jan Wuornos <br />Gail Hennek, Teacher Rep. <br /> <br />WINTER PROGRAM <br /> <br />The 1981 Winter Schedule of <br />Community Education classes for <br />pre-school and adult will be mailed <br />out during the last week in <br />December. The Youth Program <br />brochure will be sent home with <br />Ramsey students during the second <br />week of January. <br />Registration will be held according <br />to the following schedule: <br />Pre-school and adult classes <br />Mail-in, December 29-January 12 <br />Phone-in & In-person, Jan. 14-15 <br /> <br />Classes are scheduled to begin during <br />the third week in January. <br />Watch for the Community <br />Education brochures in the mail and <br />at Ramsey School. If you do not <br />receive one, call Ramsey Community <br />School at 427-9350. We'll assist in <br />getting one to you. <br /> <br />RAMSEY POLICE OFFICER <br />RECEIVES AWARD <br /> <br />Officer Tom Anderson of the <br />Ramsey Police Department was <br />presented with an award in October <br />for his outstanding service to Ramsey <br />School. Fourth grade student Mike <br />Auspos presented the award on <br />behalf of all the students and <br />teachers. <br />Officer Anderson has been making <br />presentations to the students at <br />Ramsey for over five years. His <br />presentations deal with school bus <br />safety, bike safety and a variety of <br />other topics. <br />In addition to this. Officer <br /> <br />Anderson has taught First Aid, CPR <br />and Drug and Alcohol Awareness <br />seminars to adults as well as youth in <br />the Ramsey area. . <br />This winter, Anderson plans to <br />hold a Heart Saver course and a <br />Basic Cardiac Life Support Course <br />for adults as well as a Basic First Aid <br />course for students. Benji is a fresh and <br />exciting kind of film that tells its story <br />completely from a dog's point-of-view as <br />he struggles to communicate a piece of <br />'important knowledge to some people he <br />loves. <br />ADMISSION: 50' POPCORN: 10' <br /> <br />CUB SCOUT PACK 362 <br />Cub Scout Pack 362 met for their <br />first monthly pack meeting of the <br />school year on Thursday, October <br />23rd at the Ramsey School Cafeteria. <br />Badges were presented to thirty of <br />the cub scouts, who earned them by <br />completing the necessary <br />requirements in the Cub Scout <br />Program. <br />The special feature for the evening <br />was a dramatic presentation by the <br />Isanoka Order of the Arrow Dance <br />Team, made up of five' 'Chiefs", four <br />"Squaws" and one "Brave". <br />A good time was had by all as we <br />joined in a special Indian Dance, <br />forming a "snake" led by District <br />Commissioner Dan Niven and <br />Cubmaster John Newbolt. Parents <br />and siblings of the cubs even joined in <br />the fun. <br />
