<br />CLOSING <br /> <br />SCHOOLS <br /> <br />We are approaching the season when the possibility of <br />closing school due to inclement weather becomes a <br />distinct possibility. To assist parents, students, 'and staff <br />members, the following information should be known: <br />1. The most important criterion considered in making <br />, the decision to close school is the safety and welfare <br />of students. <br /> <br />2. A decision to close schools will include all public and <br />non-public schools in District No. II. <br /> <br />3. Information derived from the U;S. Weather Bureau, <br />law enforcement agencies, highway departments, <br />and District No. 11 personnel is used in making the <br />, decision.' ' <br />4. In the event a decision is made by the <br />Superintendent to close schools, two radio stations <br />(WeCO-AM and KANO-1470AM/ KTWN-108FM) <br />will be notified by 6: 00 am. <br />5. Buses will travel only on streets and roads which, in <br />the opinion of the driver, are passable. , <br />,6. Parents always have the option of keeping their child <br />at home hut must provide a written excuse for such <br />absences. ' ' , <br />7. KTWN.108FM on your dial can be received <br />everywhere in the Anoka-Hennepin School District). <br />, ,8. Parents: Please instruct your children about what to <br />do if they return home during the day and no adult is <br />present. This often occurs when both parents are <br />working outside the home. ' ' <br /> <br /> <br />SANTA BRUNCH <br />450 residents turned out on a cold December <br />morning to participate in Ramsey Community School's <br />second annual Santa Brunch. Orange Juice, fresh baked <br />rolls and hot chocolate were served while the kids <br />brought toys to Santa to be donated to 'the Anoka <br />County Brotherhood Council. A skate and ski exchange <br />was also held fuat morning in 'the school. A special <br />'thank you to all those who participated and especially <br />to those volunteers who helped plan, prepare and <br />, conduct a successful brunch. <br /> <br />HELP WANTED <br /> <br />The Ramsey Community School Program needs your <br />talents. The hours <br />are as follows: <br />Weekdays ...................... .3:3D-9:00p.m. <br />Saturday & Sunday. . . . . . . . . . .. 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br />Holidays . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. <br />The Warming House will be CLOSED when the temperature falls <br />below --5 F. <br /> <br />Fall turnout good <br /> <br />The turnout for this Fall's Community School program was <br />tremendous!! Over 400 youth and nearly' 200 adults participated <br />in a variety of activities and, classes at Ramsey. The soccer <br />program was themost popular single activity of the session with <br />over 90 young boys and girls involved. Other highlights of the <br />youth program were the pre-school cut and color and story hour <br />activities which drew ne'lrly 60 pre-schoolers. Much of the credit <br />for that success is owed to the hard 'working and enthusiastic <br />instructional staff and the parents and students who participated. <br />A special Thank You to all of those people who participated. <br />See you in January at the beginning of the Winter schedule. <br /> <br />Safety Clinic <br /> <br />Officer Tom Anderson of the Ramsey City Police will again be <br />holding a First Aid Fam il iarizati on ,Safety CI inic at <br />Ramsey Community School this Winter Session.
