Grow Township and has resulted in some fine neighborhood parks. ~ Some of
the residents living around the Whispering Pines Park are also getting
together to plan and prepare a skating rink there for their children.
It is very rewarding for the residents to plan together and prepare park
land in their area for recreationaJ.. activities suitable to the land and
working with the Park Board.

The entrance and corners (also some outlines) of the parks have been marked
with white posts. Many parks are not square, of course. We thought it
would be nice for the people living around these parks to know what equip-
ment they now contain. Hunters Hill is mowed, has 10 posts, a sandbox,
a bench, chinning bars, picnic table, grill and swings. Riverwood Hills
is mowed, has 2 ball fields with bases and backstops, 4 posts, and 2
benches. Shawn Acres has been treated for gophers, mowed, has a slide,
ball field, 3 posts, a sandbox, parallel bars, 1 bench, and swings. Deer-
wood Park is mowed and has 3 posts. This is primarily a nature area.
Ford Brook is mowed, has a slide, 4 posts, a sandbox, a bench, chinning
bars, picnic table, grill and overhead bars. Whispering Pines, large
park, is mowed in some areas, has 16 posts, a sandbox, 2 benches, picnic
table, grill and swings. This is also a nature park. Brookview Park is
mowed, cleaned up, has 3 posts, 3 picnic tables, 3 grills, and swings.
Peltzer Park is mowed, has a slide, monkey bars, 1 post, sandbox, chin-
ning bars, 2 picnic tables, 2 grills, swings and overhead bars. Green-
land Hills has been levelled. Ramsey Terrace has been treated for gophers,
mowed, has 3 posts, a culve~has been put in, chinning bars, picnic table,
grill, swings, and overhead bars. We hope you and your children will take
time to enjoy these parks. They are for your pleasure.

WE HAVE TOWNSHIP MAPS for sale here at the office at 50~ each. They of-
ten save a lot in gas if you are not just sure which is the shortest route.

OUR HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT has been very busy this summer. We have many com-
pliments on the maintenance of our roads. Many problem areas have been
brought under control.

WE ALSO HAVE ORDINANCE NO. 73-11 on regulating the installation, con-
struction, alteration, extension, repair and maintenance of individual
sewage disposal systems, requiring permits for, and licensing of persons
engaged in the construction thereof; providing for inspection, prescrib-
ing penalties; and adopting by reference the 1971 Minnesota Individual
Sewage Disposal System Code available to be picked up here at the office.
We also have an orange card that should be hung in your basement near
your water system. Please stop in to pick up yours.

At least once each year the owner of any system equipped with a distri-
bution box shall arrange for the opening of the distribution box and the
removal of any settled solids therein. Such material shall be disposed
of to the septic tank or by other means acceptable to the Board.

We are very proud of our Police Department. They are very busy and very
efficient. The emergency number for the Police Department is 427-1212.
We can all help them and help ourselves by being very aware of what is
going on in our immediate neighbor~oods. Try to get license numbers if
a strange car is where it shouldn't be.' We have a big area and we will
all have to do all we can to help in these matters.
