Commission member <br />for its adoption: <br />introduced the following resolution and moved <br />RESOLUTION #06- 12- <br />A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ENACT AN <br />ORDINANCE TO AMEND CITY CHARTER SECTION 2.1 BY REQUIRING THAT THE <br />CITY BE GOVERNED BY THE COUNCIL- MANAGER PLAN OF GOVERNMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Commission has considered changing the City's form of <br />government from a Mayor - Council Plan to a Council - Manager Plan known as Optional Plan B under <br />Minnesota Statutes, Section 412.611 et. seq.; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Commission has reviewed and compared the City's current form of <br />government which is the Mayor - Council Plan with the Council- Manager Plan form of government; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Commission has had input from a presentation by the League of <br />Minnesota Cities, reviewed written material from the League of Minnesota Cities and has had input <br />from City Staff on this subject. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Charter Commission of the City of Ramsey as <br />follows: <br />1. That it is in the best long range interest of the City that it be governed by the Council <br />Manager plan of government known as Optional Plan B as established by Minnesota <br />Statutes §412.611 et. seq. <br />That the Charter Commission recommends to the City Council that it enact a charter <br />amendment by ordinance in the form of the attached ordinance to amend City Charter <br />Section 2.1 to provide that the City be governed by the Council- Manager Plan of <br />government as defined by Minnesota Statutes, and that the effective date of said City <br />Charter amendment be January 1, 2017. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Commission member <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />and-the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey Charter <br />Commission this day of December, 2006. <br />By: <br />Charter Chairperson <br />
