This proposal contains our understanding <br />of the project and the projected costs for its completion. <br />Description of Project <br />The project will consist of street improvements in Ramsey, Minnesota. The area of work <br />includes portions of Iguana Street, 174th Avenue and 176th Avenue. Eight (8) split -spoon <br />soil borings are proposed to depths of ten (10) feet. Our total estimated footage is eighty <br />(80) feet. A representative with ITT will mark the field boring locations. We will contact <br />Gopher One for existing utility locates prior to drilling. <br />Exploration Scope <br />The borings are planned to be performed with the use of a truck -mounted and a track - <br />mounted rig. The borings will be sampled using standard penetration test procedures so that <br />intact samples can be obtained, and "N" values recorded to help estimate soil parameters. <br />Standard penetration samples will be taken at 2 1/2-foot intervals in accordance with ASTM <br />D1586. Water level readings will be taken in the borehole following removal of the auger. <br />Pavement and aggregate base thickness determinations will be made during drilling. The <br />shallow borings will be backfilled with the auger cuttings from the drilling operations. <br />Engineering Scope <br />The completed report will include log sheets for the borings showing soil types, water levels <br />and a sketch of the boring locations as drilled. The report will include a summary of our <br />findings as well as recommendations regarding earthwork, fill and compaction, subgrade <br />GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING SPECIALTY TESTING <br />
