This recommendation was made
because much of the WTP is exposed to increased UV, which can cause epoxy coatings to yellow. A
urethane -based topcoat is UV -resistant, better maintains color and sheen over time, and allows for a more
seamless appearance during touch-ups.
After discussions with the Owner, applicator, and paint supplier, it was determined that the most critical
areas were the pipe gallery and filter rooms, due to the large south -facing windows and visual aesthetics.
The proposal includes labor and materials for applying an additional coat of Acrolon 218 (3-4 mils DFT)
over the existing coating systems on all cast -in -place concrete, precast concrete, and masonry block walls
and ceilings in the filter gallery and filter rooms.
Proposal No. 035A — Dedication Plaque Modifications:
To include the requested text on the dedication plaque, the font size for the Special Recognitions section
was requested to be larger. To accommodate this, the overall plaque height was increased to 36". This
proposal includes the associated material cost for the larger plaque and additional lettering.
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 184 • Water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
