Operating under constant full flow will improve meter accuracy,
assisting the City in reporting more precise waste flows from the WTP. This proposal includes the labor
and materials required to modify the piping and relocate the meters along with the associated electrical
work.
Proposal No. 044 — Generator Panel Feed:
During construction, the electrician brought up a concern with the 60-amp size of the wire to the generator
feed panel. Discussions with the generator manufacturer indicated that the load on the panel would be a
maximum of 60-amps. However, to ensure maximum capacity is met, the Engineer recommends upsizing
the feeder circuit to 100-amps capacity. This proposal includes the necessary labor, material, and equipment
to provide a higher amp feed for the generator panel and a credit for the originally scheduled wire size.
Summary of General Construction Contingency Costs:
As part of the Contractor's bid, the Owner required a $950,000 General Construction Allowance. This
allowance was intended to limit Contract changes due to change orders by applying general construction
changes to a set contingency. The allowance represents approximately 3% of the overall construction bid
price. For projects of this magnitude, industry standards typically see an increase in the bid price of 3% to
5% due to change orders, so it is expected that most of this allowance will be used by the conclusion of
construction. Any unused funds from the allowance will be deducted from the project's Final Payment.
AE2S has summarized all known construction contingency expenses below, to help the City of Ramsey
better understand the current contingency status. With the approval of Construction Contingency Expense
No. 10, the total approved expenses will total $608,734.41 of the existing $950,000.00 General
Construction Allowance. As construction progresses, AE2S will continue to provide cost updates and
coordination with City staff.
Expense No.
General Construction Contingency Amount
Allowance Amount: $950,000.00
Expense No. 1
Expense No. 2
Expense No. 3
Expense No. 4
Expense No. 5
Expense No. 6
Expense No. 7
Expense No. 8
Expense No. 9
Expense No. 10
Net Expenses to Date:
Available Construction Contingency =
Percent Completed
$76,446.91
$135,654.02
$99,095.63
$102,023.36
$39,361.69
$17,125.02
$31,938.68
$31,463.77
$13,851.80
$61,773.53
$608,734.41
$341,265.59
64%
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 184 • Water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
