The city has worked hard on its river corridor plan, and consequently produced a plan that <br />meets the needs of the Critical Areas Act and the vision of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. <br />The Council formally adopted the attached review record and recommendations at its meeting on March 21, 2001. We are <br />transmitting the review fmdings and the Council's recommendations of the plan's consistency with regional objectives and <br />Executive Order 79 -19 as required. The Council adopted the following recommendations: <br />That the Metropolitan Council recommend to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) that the Mississippi River <br />Critical Area Corridor / MNRRA plan is consistent with regional objectives and state Critical Area standards as defined by <br />Executive Order 79=19. <br />That the Metropolitan Council recommend to the National Park Service that the Mississippi River Critical Area <br />Corridor/MNRRA plan is in voluntary conformance with the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area <br />Comprehensive Management Plan. <br />The Critical Area/MNRRA plan review was based on the Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor materials submitted to the <br />Council on February 14, 2001, and additions faxed March 14, 2001.
