Metropolitan Council It Working for the Region, Planning for the Future April 13, 2001 Kate Hanson National Park Service - MNRRA 111 East Kellogg Blvd., Suite 105 St. Paul, MN 55101 RE: Ramsey Comprehensive and Critical Area Corridor/MNRRA Plans Review for consistency with the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Comprehensive Management Plan Metropolitan Referral File No. 18160 -2 and 16891 -1 Metropolitan Council District 9 Dear Ms. Hanson: The Metropolitan Council formally adopted the attached review record and recommendations on March 21, 2001. We are transmitting the review findings and the Council's recommendations of the plan's conformance with the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP) for your review, as provided in the Cooperative Agreement. The Council adopted the following recommendations: That the Metropolitan Council recommend to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) that the Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor / MNRRA plan is consistent with regional objectives and state Critical Area standards as defined by Executive Order 79 -19. That the Metropolitan Council recommend to the National Park Service that the Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor/MNRRA plan is in voluntary conformance with the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Comprehensive Management Plan. The Critical Area/MNRRA plan review was based on the Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor materials submitted to the Council on February 14, 2001, and additions faxed March 14, 2001. The plan revision submittals and staff analysis of the plan's consistency with the MNRRA Comprehensive Management Plan, regional objectives, and Executive Order 79 -19 are attached. Thank you for considering the Council's recommendation during your determination of the plan's conformance with the MNRRA CMP.
