Metropolitan Council <br />It Working for the Region, Planning for the Future <br />April 13, 2001 <br />Kate Hanson <br />National Park Service - MNRRA <br />111 East Kellogg Blvd., Suite 105 <br />St. Paul, MN 55101 <br />RE: Ramsey Comprehensive and Critical Area Corridor/MNRRA Plans <br />Review for consistency with the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area <br />Comprehensive Management Plan <br />Metropolitan Referral File No. 18160 -2 and 16891 -1 <br />Metropolitan Council District 9 <br />Dear Ms. Hanson: <br />The Metropolitan Council formally adopted the attached review record and recommendations on March 21, 2001. <br />We are transmitting the review findings and the Council's recommendations of the plan's conformance with the <br />Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP) for your <br />review, as provided in the Cooperative Agreement. The Council adopted the following recommendations: <br />That the Metropolitan Council recommend to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) that the <br />Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor / MNRRA plan is consistent with regional objectives and state <br />Critical Area standards as defined by Executive Order 79 -19. <br />That the Metropolitan Council recommend to the National Park Service that the Mississippi River Critical <br />Area Corridor/MNRRA plan is in voluntary conformance with the Mississippi National River and <br />Recreation Area Comprehensive Management Plan. <br />The Critical Area/MNRRA plan review was based on the Mississippi River Critical Area Corridor materials <br />submitted to the Council on February 14, 2001, and additions faxed March 14, 2001.
