From:
To:
Date:
Subject:

Frolik
Norman
6/29/00 6:52PM
6-29 Comp Plan Discussion

For your convenience, I thought I would e-mail you the results of the Comprehensive Plan discussion at
the 6-29 Council work session. Three out of 5 of the councilmembers wish to lower the densities in
Tabble V-6 on page V-32 as follows: Medium Density - 4; High Density -6. This should result in a total net
development of about 3.12 units per acre. Have Mark Koegler verify these numbers.

Staff thoughts: Isn't the Metro Council established goal 3 units per gross acre. If we reduce our densities
to a net 3 units per acre, then our gross will be less than 3 units per acre and fall way short of Metro
Council goals.

Report back to Terry Hendriksen with Mark Koeglers confirmation of results of lowering projected
densities.

Also, request a simple statement to be added somewhere in the text of the Comp Plan that states that the
total number of units allowed on a parcel of land is subject to the established densities, in conjuction with
all other applicable performances. I don't know if we want to go on to say that application of these other
performance standards may result in a density that is something less than the published maximum.

Place this item on the July 11 council agenda for formal action.

cc:

Frolik
