Jim Norman, City Administrator
January 13, 2000
Page 4

During the review process, staff may raise additional questions or concerns to be addressed. For
example, the projected land demand and forecasts for the MUSA and proposed MUSA areas
seem to be based on the maximum allowable density, rather than on the expected density. There
may be a question of accommodating projected growth in the proposed MUSA area when it
includes Mississippi River Corridor lands that are restricted and are already developed on
individual sewage treatment systems. Staff will contact you to request a meeting if there are
issues to be addressed during the review.

Please contact Sandra Pinel, Principal Reviewer and Sector Representative, with any questions or
concerns at 651 602-1513. We look forward to working with the city to achieve mutual goals
through the comprehensive plan.

~~

Richard Thompson, Supervisor
Comprehensive Planning

cc: Kate Hanson, NPS-MNRRA
Sandy Fecht, DNR-Waters
Natalie Haas Steffen, Metropolitan Council District 9
Judy Sventek, Watershed Coordinator
Linda Milashius, Referrals Coordinator
Sandra Pinel, Sector Representative
