Task 8 City Council Hearing
Based on the Planning Commission public hearings, a City Council hearing will be scheduled. HKGi
will also work closely with City Staff to strategize the best approach for the City Council public
hearings.

Final Work Products
HKGi will be responsible for distributing a hard and/or electronic copy of the work product to the City
prior to each meeting. Each Draft and Final Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance will be produced in
legislative and final formats. A final hard and electronic copy, formatted in a manner consistent with
the City's code, in Microsoft Word will be prepared upon adoption.

Meetings
The adoption of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance will require a high attention to detail and
communication if it is to be successful. Most of this occurs during the drafting period of ordinance
provisions and we would suggest holding regular meetings with City Staff. As indicated by City Staff,
the City Council and Planning Commission will have an ongoing oversight of the review process. We
would anticipate meeting with the Planning Commission and City Council to review the work product
at each identified task in the work program for a total of six (6) workshop meetings. Additional
meetings as needed could be scheduled based on an hourly rate as identified in the fee schedule.

B. FEES FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

The CITY agrees to pay the CONSULTANT for services rendered as follows:

1. For the CONSULTANT'S Basic Services described above, a fee based on the CONSULTANT'S
current hourly rate schedule (see Attachment A) plus incidental expenses not to exceed FORTY
THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($43,200.00).

2. Statements will be submitted to the CITY on a monthly basis as. work is completed and shall be
payable within 30 days of receipt by the CITY.

3. The CONSULTANT reserves the right to suspend services if the CITY is delinquent in making
payments in accordance with this agreement.

C. CITY'S RESPONSIBILITY

The CITY shall be responsible for the following:

I. The assembly of background information.

2. Setting meeting times, locations, and mailings.

3. Reproduction of all reports and distribution to the Planning Commission and City Council.

4. Printing the final document.

June 28, 2000
Contract for Ordinance Update
City of Ramsey, Minnesota

Page 3
