<br />Subd. 2. A permit issued by the Zoning Administrator becomes null and void if <br />. work is suspended or abandoned or not completed within six (6) months of issuance, but may be <br />reinstated with an additional payment of one-half of the original fee.. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Any sign installed or placed on ?I1Y parcel prior to receipt of a permit, <br />the specified permit fee shall be doubled. However, the payinent of the doubled fee shall not <br />relieve any person of any other requirement or penalties prescribed in this Section. <br /> <br />9.12.20 <br /> <br />Administration . <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. The Zoning Administrator shall process applications forperinits.. <br />The Building Official is ej1lpowered, upon presentation of proper cre4entials, to enter 'or inspect <br />an)' building, structure,. or parcel in the City for the purpose of inspection of a sign and its <br />. structural and electrical connections to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and <br />ordinances. <br /> <br />9.12.21 <br /> <br />. Violations <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. When, in the opinion of the Zoning Admini~ator, a violation of <br />the Code exists, the Zoning Administrator shall issue a written order to either the owner of the <br />sign, or the owner of th~ property, or tenant leasing the property, on which the sign is pla~ed. <br />The order shall specify those sections of the Code involved, describe tl}.e violation and shall <br />direct that the violation be corr.ec::ted within five (5) days from the date of the order, unless' <br />otherwise specified by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. If the Z~ming Administrator or Building Official finds that a sign is <br />abandoned or is structurally, or electrically defec~ve, or in any way endangers the public, the <br />Zoning Administrator or Building Official shall issue a written order to the owner of the sign and <br />occupant of the premises stating the nature of the violation and requirinK repair or re~oval of the <br />sign within sixty (60) days of the date of the 'order. <br /> <br />. 9.12.22 <br /> <br />Removal of Signs by the Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. The Zoning Administrator may cause the removal of any illegal. <br />sign, any sign remaining after a husiness permanently doses, or any sign not properly maintained <br />in cases of emergency, or after failure to timely comply with written orders for removal or repair. <br />After removal. or demolition of the sign, a notice.shall be mailed to the sign oWner and owner of <br />the property where the sign was located statjng the nature of the work and the date on which if <br />was performed and demanding paYment of the costs as c.ertified by the Zoning Administrator <br />together with an additional fifty percent (50%) for Inspection and incidental costs. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. If the amount specified in the notice is not paid within thirty (30) days <br />after mailing of the notice, it shall become a lien against the parcel where the sign was located <br />
