CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Discussion of Facility Rental Policy <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br />Background: <br />Staff has recently been contacted by several local businesses requesting to utilize meeitn <br />space in the new Ramsey Municipal Center for business meetings. The current policy, <br />which was revised on November 14`", allows for rental/use of the space by not-for-profit <br />and civic organizations. only. <br />Staff believes there is an economic development benefit in allowing local businesses to <br />rent meeting space in the Municipal Center for the purpose of conducting business <br />meetings. Restrictions would be not allowing use for the sale of goods and restricting the <br />number of reservations to no more than four (4} .per year. Businesses would also have to <br />have completed their current year BRC to be eligible to rent space. <br />Action Statement: <br />Staff is seeking direction regarding allowing for business use of city facilities. <br />CCWS: 12/12/06 <br />// <br />
