PC# ` <br />AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER <br />AND BEGIN A RECRUITING FOR A COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />Background <br />In November 2006, staff received authorization to create an eligibility list fora 2007 <br />Patrol Officer position. Staff has completed the internal recruitment process and the <br />Police Chief recommends hiring Melissa Wistrom for the patrol officer position. <br />The results of Ms. Wistrom's background investigation, psychological exam and pre- <br />employment physical and drug screen are satisfactory. With City Council approval <br />Ms. Wistrom will begin employment on January 2, 2007 at an hourly wage of $19.62 <br />(2006 wage scale). <br />With City Council approval, Ms. Wistrom's appointment as patrol officer creates a <br />vacancy for a Community Service Officer. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that Melissa Wistrom begin employment with the City of Ramsey as a <br />patrol officer on January 2, 2007 at an hourly rate of $19.62 (2006 wage scale).
