Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER AND BEGIN RECRUITMENT FOR A COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER WHEREAS, In November 2006, staff received City Council authorization to create an eligibility list for a patrol officer position in 2007; and WHEREAS, staff has conducted an internal recruitment process and is recommending that Melissa Wistrom be hired to fill the patrol officer position effective January 2, 2007 at an hourly rate of $19.62 (2006 wage scale); and WHEREAS, with City Council approval of Ms. Wistrom's appointment, a Community Service Officer vacancy exists. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to hire Melissa Wistrom as a patrol officer and that all personnel policies will apply normally. 2) Ms. Wistrom will begin employment with the City of Ramsey as a patrol officer on January 2, 2007 at an hourly rate of $19.62 (2006 wage scale). 3) Staff is authorized to begin a recruitment process for a Community Service Officer. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, ,and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 28~' day of December, 2006.
