1 -CASE #: ~. <br />CONSIDER APPROVING 2007 CITY HEALTH INSURANCE <br />CONTRIBUTION FOR NON-UNION EMPLOYEES AND LELS-PATROL AND <br />LELS-PATROL MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />Background: <br />Below are the health insurance contribution amounts staff is proposing for non-union <br />employees and employees represented by LELS-Patrol. These contribution amounts are <br />commensurate with those planned for all other employee groups. <br />Insurance: 2007: Aware Gold Single: $437.50 VEBA Single: $442.60 <br />2007: Aware Gold Family: $679.00 VEBA Family: $685.00 <br />Compensatory Effective January 1, 2007, Patrol Officers may elect to take <br />Time Off: compensatory time off in lieu of receiving overtime compensation <br />except that court time will be paid as overtime, hold-overs and <br />early shift starts over two hours to cover the schedule will be <br />overtime (two hours and under may be taken as compensatory time <br />off or overtime) and scheduled overtime will be paid as overtime. <br />Compensatory time off is computed at a rate of one and one-half <br />times the time worked. Accrued and banked compensatory time <br />off shall not exceed 30 hours at any time. Compensatory time off <br />may only be used with prior approval from the employee's <br />department head. Upon separation from employment, accrued and <br />unused compensatory time off will be paid to the employee at the <br />then current rate. Compensatory time off will be approved pending <br />scheduling. Pay back time must be satisfied before compensatory <br />time off will be approved. <br />This Memorandum of Understanding will sunset on December 31, <br />2007. <br />Wages for The Council will recall that 2007 wages were established at 3% in <br />2007: early 2006, as per resolutions 06-01-037 and 06-01-023. <br />G:\,Administration\HumanResources\Benefits\2007\case to appr hlth ins. cont. for non-union and LELS Patrol ees 12-28-06.doc <br />-333- <br />
