APPROVE MINUTES

Motion by Member Kiefer, seconded by Member Steffen, to approve the following meeting minutes as presented:

Economic Development Authority regular meeting minutes dated April 13, 2005.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Kiefer, Steffen, Elvig, LeTourneau, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Member Gromberg.

EDA BUSINESS

The agenda was amended to move Case #4 up first in the agenda.

Case #4: EDAM Participation

Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan reviewed with the EDA that staff currently has two members that are part of the Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM). EDAM
is an organization that allows members to gather and exchange ideas with all people involved with economic development. This group has a monthly Third Thursday event as well as two
biannual conferences in which economic topics are discussed. Staff has found these events and conferences to be quite helpful in regards to gaining new perspectives and more education
in economic development. He stated the present EDA has been very active on the development front and has been dependent on staff to keep them abreast of the current economic environment
as well as pertinent law changes relevant to economic development. Staff is interested to see if the EDA would like to participate in some of the events throughout the year. The purpose
of this case is to open up discussion and to decide whether or not any EDA members would be interested in attending events as well as being notified of upcoming events.

Member Kiefer asked if advanced registration is required and if there are costs associated with attending events. Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan replied the cost to attend
events is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. The EDA may be able to work out a floating membership. He could include information on upcoming events in the EDA packets, and members
could inform him if there is any interest in attending. He indicated the summer conference is scheduled for the end of June. He can complete the registration if there is any interest
by the EDA in having a member attend.

Member LeTourneau stated it would be interesting to be involved with these meetings and to gain a perspective from a larger scale. He volunteered to attend the June meeting. Member
Kiefer volunteered to serve as an alternate for Member LeTourneau.

Motion by Member Elvig, seconded by Member Steffen, to direct staff to register Member Letourneau for the EDAM summer conference, and to direct staff to distribute future event agendas
to the EDA to determine interest in attending.
