The public hearing closed at 8:39 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Levine called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order <br />at 8:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stressed the importance of staying on top of the consistency of things such <br />as signage throughout Ramsey Town Center. ~. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer commented on the benefit of this additional signage advertising the Town <br />Center area. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Trites Rolle, to recommend that <br />the City Council adopt findings of fact favorable to Sophia-Ramsey LLC's request for a <br />conditional use permit to. exceed sign size restrictions established in City Code and for multiple <br />ground signs on a single parcel; Case of Sophia Ramsey, LLC <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Van Scoy, Trites <br />Rolle, Brauer, and Hunt. V oting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner <br />Cleveland. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Trites Rolle, to recommend that <br />City Council approve Sophia-Ramsey LLC's request to exceed sign .size restrictions and for <br />multiple ground signs on a single parcel contingent upon receiving a written agreement <br />concerning sign relocation responsibility based on the findings of fact, and to adopt a resolution <br />declaring terms of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Van Scoy, Trites <br />Rolle, Brauer, and Hunt. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner <br />Cleveland. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />The Staff Update was noted. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer thanked Councilmember Pearson for his work as the Commission's liaison <br />to the City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson thanked the Commission for stepping up to the plate and being part of <br />the community. He stated he has lived in the City of Ramsey all of his life, and the Planning <br />Commissioners are the people that make it go around. It has been a pleasure to work with the <br />Commission; the Commission and the Council do not always agree, but they worked together. <br />He would like to thank the Commission as a private citizen of the City for the dedication of their <br />time. <br /> <br />Planning CommissionlDecember 7, 2006 <br />Page 5 of7 <br /> <br />-31- <br />
