CASE # ~

REVIEW RFP FOR COMPREHENSIVE WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN
By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer II

Background:

The City is required to revise their Comprehensive Plan in 2008. One portion of the plan is the
Comprehensive Water Resources Management Plan. The current plan was created in 1980 and
revised in 1987. The plan for the Southeast quadrant of the City was updated in 1997. Significant
development has occurred since the plan was first created. The request for proposal is attached for
review. The proposed schedule is on the first page and will allows almost a full year for selection of
the consultant and preparation of the plan. The water resources plan should be completed well in
advance of the Comprehensive Plan for the City so that recommendations from the Water Resources
plan can be reflected in the appropriate sections ofthe Comprehensive Plan

Funding Source:

Staff anticipates this study will cost upwards of $160,000. It will be funded from the Storm Water
Utility.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends the RFP be approved by the committee and forwarded to the City Council.

Council Action:

Motion to recommend the RFP be approved by the City Council.

Reviewed by: .
Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer

PW: 01/16/07

19
