Formally establish design standards for streets and trails City of Ramsey Road System The City of Ramsey's northern border is County Road (CR) 64 and Burns Township. The City's eastern border is the Rum River, and the Mississippi River forms the southern border. Ramsey's western border is along Jarvis Street, which separates Ramsey from the City of Elk River and Anoka County from Sherburne County. Ramsey's transportation system is dominated by US Highway 10. This road, also known as Trunk Highway (TH) 10, is the principal arterial link between the City of Ramsey and the remainder of the metropolitan region. TH 10 is the only highway in the City that is part of the Metropolitan Highway System. TH 10 is oriented as a northwest/southeast road where it passes through Ramsey. The City's transportation needs are also served by north/south and east/west roads. Important north/south roads are Jarvis Street, CR 83 (Armstrong Boulevard), CR 56 (Ramsey Boulevard), CR 57 (Sunfish Lake Boulevard, County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 5 or Nowthen Boulevard, and TH 47 (St. Francis Boulevard). These roads provide continuous travel routes from the northern border of Ramsey to TH 10. Important east/west roads are CR 64 (181st Avenue), CR 27 (179th Avenue), CR 63 (173rd Avenue and Green Valley Road), 153rd Avenue, and CR 116 (Industrial Boulevard). None of the east/west roads, because of the locations of wetlands and past leap frog development practices, are continuous across the City. For example, east/west CR 64, which forms Ramsey's northern border, is continuous from Jarvis Street to CSAH 5. This three mile-long stretch of road only provides service across half the City, and to drive across the remaining half would require over one mile of diversions.
