<br />. . <br /> <br />City of Ramsey <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />Transportation Element <br /> <br />3.6 RECOMMENDED ROAD AND TRAIL DESIGN GUIDELINES AND <br />STANDARDS <br /> <br />Design guidelines and standards for roads and trails have been established at the national and <br />state levels. Many of the recognized design criteria have already been applied in the City of <br />Ramsey. Policy statements on specific road and trail design criteria are presented below to: <br /> <br />. Emphasize the importance of road design criteria to the safe operations of traffic, <br />pedestrians, bicycles, and other transportation modes. <br /> <br />. Reinforce the importance and relevance of road and trail design criteria to the <br />realization of goals and objectives developed by the City. <br /> <br />. Ensure that appropriate road and trail design crfteria will be applied when new <br />facilities are being planned and constructed. <br /> <br />. Ensure that when it is feasible, appropriate design criteria will be applied when <br />existing roads and trails are reconstructed. <br /> <br />Road Cross-Section Design Policies <br /> <br />. Two-Lane Urban Street (Type A): <br />60-foot right-of-way <br />32-foot curb-to-curb (measured from back edge of curbs) <br />Two, 5-foot wide sidewalks <br />Two, 9 I/2-foot wide boulevards for tree planting <br />Parking allowed <br />Low density, urban residential areas <br />See Figure 3-8 <br /> <br />.
