<br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A POST -EMPLOYMENT HEALTH CARE <br />SAVINGS PLAN FOR THE LELS SERGEANTS BARGAINING UNIT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to offer employees and retirees opportunities to pay <br />post employment health care expenses on a pre-tax basis, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a post employment health care savings plan gives retiring sergeants <br />the opportunity to use sick and vacation leave severance on a pre-tax basis to pay for <br />eligible medical expenses, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the sergeants have approved the design of the post-employment <br />health care savings plan as described in the attached Memorandum of Understanding. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />ConfIrms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />approve the attached Memorandum of Understanding describing the post-employment <br />health care savings plan designed for the City of Ramsey Sergeants union. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 23rd day of January, 2007. <br /> <br />-378- <br /> <br />G:lAdministrationlHumanResourceslBenefitslPEHCSPlconsider reso approving PEHCSP 1-23-07.doc <br />
