Section 3
This section will summarize the 10 most prominent trail segments within
Ramsey and place them in~recreational and transportational context -
essentially describing their value to the community. For efficiency, each
description shall use a similar outline, beginning with a summary..
Thereafter, the trails primary purpose and background shall be discussed, as
well as its environment (natural or built). Funding,-forecasts and
opportunities will be addressed last, before the cost estimate box.
Elmcrest to Central Park Trail
Summary
The Elmcrest to Central Park Trail is approximately 3.6 miles. in
length, generally paralleling Ditch #66 or `Elmcrest Creek'. This off-
roadwaytrail corridor is centered geographically in the city, connecting
Ramsey's two most prominent athletic complexes. The adjoining land use is
predominantly residential; however there. is a fair amount of natural areas
generally associated with the wetlands that border, and hydraulically connect
to the ditch.
The anticipated uses of this trail are as recreationally located as the trail is
centered in the community. With trail completion, the values will include
connecting neighborhoods to the trail system, linking community parks, and
providing a natural resource experience while residents recreate, travel, and
exercise near home.
40
