City UPDATE <br />Administrator's Report <br />Council Update <br />April 17, 2026 <br />Spring Recycling Day Event <br />Ramsey's Spring <br />Recycling Day will <br />be held on Saturday, <br />May 2, from 8:00 <br />a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at <br />the Ramsey Public <br />Works Facility, <br />14199 Jasper Street <br />NW, Ramsey. <br />View the fee <br />schedule and a map <br />to the facility at <br />www.cityoframsey.com/1049. Please use the tally sheet in the March/ <br />April Ramsey Resident or the Spring Ramsey Recycler to <br />expedite getting through the line. <br />Free drop-off items include standard curbside <br />recyclables, used oil and filters, antifreeze, scrap metal, <br />laptops and desktop computers, and cell phones. <br />Document shredding will also be free, with a limit of up <br />to three boxes equivalent to 12" x 12" x 24" per household. <br />Appliances, exercise equipment (e.g., treadmills, exercise <br />bikes, elliptical machines), batteries, TVs, printers, <br />desktop copiers/scanners, fluorescent bulbs, mattresses, <br />box springs, mattress toppers, and tires require a drop-off <br />fee. <br />NO garbage, furniture (except mattresses and box <br />springs), or household hazardous waste (except used oil, <br />oil filters, and antifreeze) will be accepted at the event. <br />Anoka County has a handy Recycling and Resource <br />webpage at www.anokacountymn.gov/1653 that <br />can guide you to places that accept materials such as <br />Styrofoam, furniture, and textiles. <br />Household hazardous waste can be disposed of at the <br />Anoka County Household Hazardous Waste facility. For <br />more info, visit www.anokacountymn.gov/369. <br />Saturday, <br />ECYCLING 8:00May a.2m. <br />DAY EVENT until Noon <br />City of #k <br />• <br />RAMSEY <br />Mosquito Control Activity is <br />Underway <br />The Metropolitan <br />Mosquito Control <br />District (MMCD) <br />is celebrating its <br />13th year this April. <br />Seasonal staff in yellow <br />vests labeled "Public <br />Health Mosquito <br />Control" will soon <br />be in our area! They <br />are working across <br />the seven -county metro area to reduce the mosquito <br />population and protect against diseases spread by <br />mosquitoes and ticks. <br />MMCD predicts that 2026 will be an average year, <br />with a high number of cattail mosquitoes emerging in <br />early July. Field technicians will coordinate with the <br />entomology lab to identify areas with increased mosquito <br />activity. Helicopter treatments are likely to begin the week <br />of April 20. <br />At times, MMCD employees may need to cross private <br />property to access and check areas for mosquito larvae. If <br />you have questions about mosquito control activities or <br />concerns about an employee, please call the MMCD front <br />desk at (651) 645-9149 or visit MMCD.org. <br />MMCD regularly tests its control materials for safety <br />and applies them only when surveillance shows they are <br />effective. Larval control, the primary treatment, involves <br />dry b.w..u.L., or pellets applied to standing water, ,..51..5 <br />mosquito larvae and adults with minimal effects on non - <br />target insects. The materials are safe for people, pets, and <br />wildlife.
