Arbor Day Planting Event <br />In recognition <br />of Arbor Day, the <br />City coordinated <br />a planting event <br />at Alpine Park on <br />April 28 (originally <br />scheduled for <br />April 27 but delayed one day due to rain). <br />Approximately 40 volunteers, including several <br />ARAA youth baseball teams, residents, and a couple of <br />Environmental Policy Board members, helped both Parks <br />and Planning Division staffplant 20 trees between the <br />parking lot and the ballfields. The trees were purchased <br />utilizing grant funds through the Met Council's <br />Community Tree Planting Grant. <br />Alpine Park was chosen because, over the past 1-2 years, a <br />number of trees have needed to be removed due to Emerald <br />Ash Borer and general tree decline. As the saying goes, many <br />hands make light work, and that certainly was true this past <br />Tuesday. Thanks to the great effort of our volunteers, 20 <br />trees were planted in about 1.5 hours. <br />Thank you to those who were able to join us in celebrating <br />and observing Arbor Day! <br />Refresh Your Driving Skills <br />The Precision Driving <br />Center of Minnesota is <br />announcing its upcoming <br />55+ Driver Discount <br />Program, designed to <br />enhance driving safety for <br />senior drivers. The program <br />will be held on Tuesday, May <br />19, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., <br />or on Monday, June 15, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Building, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW. <br />Ramsey residents can enroll for free, thanks to the <br />Ramsey Lions. Everyone is welcome to attend, but non - <br />Ramsey residents will pay a fee. Registration is required for <br />all attendees, including those attending for free.
