• CONSENT AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to approve the <br />following items on the Consent Agenda: <br />1) Receive Report of Pooled Cash Flows Period Ended November 30, 2006 <br />2) Set Public Hearing to Consider Adoption of the 2007 -2011 Capital Improvement <br />Program (CIP) - Date Requested — January 9, 2007 <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Elvig, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Cook and Olson <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Upgrades to Fire Station #2 (Old City Hall) <br />Fire Chief Kapler indicated that Case #I includes five items with a proposal to do some <br />upgrading and remodeling to the current Fire Station #2 with estimates. Fire Chief Kapler <br />provided handouts with a list of items to be upgraded with estimates. <br />Fire Chief Kapler indicated it would be preferable to stop using the "B" key in favor of re- keying <br />the building. Fire Chief Kapler stated that the City would be looking at re- keying nine (9) <br />• exterior doors at an estimate of $350 to $400. <br />Fire Chief Kapler indicated that HVAC alterations were estimated not to exceed $2,000 in an <br />attempt to minimize utility costs. Fire Chief Kapler stated that Palen Kimball has been contacted <br />to rezone the building. <br />Fire Chief Kapler indicated the plan is to relocate the turnout gear in the training room. Fire <br />Chief Kapler stated that the relocation of a single service door will create an 8 ft. X 8 ft. opening <br />to allow easy. passage in and out. Fire Chief Kapler provided a diagram indicating where the <br />turnout gear is currently stored in proximity to the apparatus bay. Fire Chief Kapler stated <br />a bid has been received in the amount of $3,000. <br />Fire Chief Kapler explained that the cost for removal of the wall between the current lunch room <br />and training room to expand the turnout gear area was estimated at $1,000. <br />Fire Chief Kapler explained that overhead garage doors equipped with transmitters that allow <br />keyless entry, receivers, and doors has already been installed as the old doors were not useful: <br />Fire Chief Kapler explained that there had to be some terminating of electrical equipment that <br />had to be torn down and other electrical work to provide power to the charger units and <br />flashlights. Fire Chief Kapler explained the changes would run approximately $8,665. <br />Councilmember Elvig inquired about how close the vehicles are to the doors in the interim until <br />the renovation takes place. <br />Special City Council / December 21, 2006 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br />—99— <br />
