• PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 28, 2006, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Chairperson Todd Cook Councilmember Mary Jo Olson Councilmember Al Pearson Also Present: Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Cook called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 4:45 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT There was none. APPROVE AGENDA • Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to approve the agenda as submitted. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Cook, Councilmembers Pearson and Olson. Voting No: None. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Authorization to Hire a Patrol Officer and begin a Recruiting for a Community Service Officer Human Resources Manager Reed Kone stated in November 2006, staff received authorization to create an eligibility list for a 2007 patrol officer position. Staff has completed the internal recruitment process and the Police Chief recommends hiring Melissa Wistrom for the patrol officer position. The results of Ms. Wistrom's background investigation, psychological exam and pre- employment physical and drug screen are satisfactory. With City Council approval Ms. Wistrom will begin employment on January 2, 2007, at an hourly wage of $19.62 (2006 wage scale). Ms. Reed Kone indicated with City Council approval, Ms. Wistrom's appointment as patrol officer creates a vacancy for a community service officer. Councilmember Olson asked how long Ms. Wistrom has been serving as a community service officer. Human Resources Manager Reed Kone replied Ms. Wistrom has been with the City for just over six months, and just completed her community service officer probation period on December 13, Personnel Committee / December 28, 2006 Page 1 of 3 —105—
