• <br />• <br />0 <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a strategic planning /goal setting meeting on Friday, January <br />19, 2007 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Members Absent: Councilmember David Elvig <br />Also Present: Interim City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney Bill Goodrich <br />Jim Lasher, LSA Design (arrived at noon) <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 10:10 a.m. <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />Welcome, Introductions (Larry Bakken) <br />Mayor Gamec and Mr. Bakken welcomed all participants. Mr. Bakken stated that this strategic <br />planning /goal setting session would cover the next 12 -18 months given that the City is in the <br />midst of change — searching for a new city administrator. Mr. Bakken stated that as the session <br />progressed he wanted participants to think about what would make the City of Ramsey <br />great... performance, best practices, etc. He also asked the group to think about what Ramsey's <br />core is because the City would need to know that as it embarks on a hiring process for a new city <br />administrator. <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon left the meeting due to a family emergency. <br />City Council /January 19, 2007 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />–183– <br />
