<br />. <br /> <br />Observations regarding other communities: <br />o Series of staff driven neighborhood meetings with each department head providing <br />information followed by citizen questions and discussion. <br />o Newsletter with detailed description of events and projects to key participants in the <br />City. <br /> <br />There was discussion of short-term communication goals during the City's transition period, as <br />opposed to long-term goals. The following was suggested: <br />· Define a communications plan with a timeline, including a review of the current tools and <br />how they are used. <br />· Implementation of the communication culture change should be an expectation with the <br />hiring of the city administrator. <br />· Citizens committee <br /> <br />Service Delivery <br /> <br />It was noted that communication and reinforcement of the established goals will facilitate the <br />discussion and service delivery for the community. <br /> <br />Personnel <br /> <br />Create Personnel CIP utilizing the personnel model in the fiscal analysis model. <br /> <br />Visioning <br />Utilize the model and foundation of the Ramsel project (citizen participation). <br /> <br />General Questions <br /> <br />Budget Cycle <br /> <br />· A budget calendar is adopted every year and begins in Mayor June. <br />· Finance Committee to take responsibility for holding to the calendar. <br />· Department heads will meet with Council on the budget as early in the year as requested. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 2:47 p.m. <br /> <br />City Council Strategic Planning/Goal Setting/January 20, 2007 <br />Page 7 of8 <br />
