<br />· Add: Conduct space needs analysis for future facilities/land <br />o It was noted this analysis could include a public works facility, range, kennel, and a <br />recycling facility. <br /> <br />Goal No.6: Modify Comprehensive Plan, Transportation Section, to include a multi-modal <br />transit plan that specifically includes the Northstar Station. <br />Goal No.7: Advocate with other agencies to develop a Regional Transportation Plan to support <br />the needs of the Ramsey community. <br /> <br />· Combine into one goal. <br />· Additional performance focus point: Secure rail station stop (also as sub-par under <br />Ramsey T own Center) <br />· Suggestion: Additional performance focus point to implement program eliminating dirt <br />driveways abutting City streets - Move to Public Works Committee for discussion. <br /> <br />Goal No.8: Create a Technology Plan to provide access to a state-of-art technology network <br />throughout the City. <br /> <br />The following performance focus points were added: <br />· Complete City Technology Plan <br />· Explore City Options (other communities) <br />· Exploration Committee <br /> <br />It was noted the long term goals have been reduced to 6 due to the completion of goal no. 4 and <br />the merging of goal nos. 6 and 7. The following additional goals were created: <br /> <br />Communications <br /> <br />The following was discussed: <br /> <br />· Ramsey Resident is an important communication tool. <br />· Importance of enacting a culture change in how communication is dealt with internally <br />and externally. <br />o Suggestion: Review how existing communication tools are currently being utilized <br />and where to fill in the gaps. <br />· Importance of getting the message out that the City process is transparent and open. <br />o Suggestions: Possibility of occasional work sessions on camera; more debate on <br />camera; schedule a meeting room open to anyone who wants to participate to address <br />concerns raised during the citizen input portion of meetings. <br />· The Open Space Technology included in the Ramsey3 process will include citizen <br />participation. <br />· Ward groups led by citizens. <br />· Question and Answer segment to be included in Ramsey Resident, QCTV, and website. <br />· Website bulletin board with councilmember response. <br />o Concerns expressed: Councilmembers debating each other on-line; open meeting <br />law. <br />· Communication should be frequent, thorough and interactive. <br />· Communication should become a City value - enhanced communication with citizens, <br />within city hall, within and among staff and Council. <br /> <br />City Council Strategic Planning/Goal Setting/January 20, 2007 <br />Page 6 of8 <br />
