<br /> <br />ORDER <br />TREES Now <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br />The Anoka Conservation District is now <br />accepting orders for its annual Tree and Shrub <br />Seedling Sale. Orders will be accepted until April <br />21, 2000, or until stock is exhausted. (Many <br />species sellout, so it's important to order early.) <br />Trees will be available for picl(-up Friday, May <br />5, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. <br />A wide variety of conifers, deciduous <br />trees and shrubs are available in bundles of25 at <br />a cost of $21 per bundle. The following types <br />are available: <br />Conifers: Norway (Red) Pine, White <br />Pine, White Spruce, White Cedar, Blacl( Spruce, <br />Balsam Fir. <br />Large Trees: American Linden, River <br />Birch, Hackberry, Sugar Maple, Red Maple, Red <br />Oak, Bur Oak, Hybrid Poplar. <br />Small Trees and Shrubs: Red <br />Splendor Crab, Harbin Pear, Wild Plum, Ginnala <br />Maple, Chokecherry, Juneberry, American <br />Highbush Cranberry, Red-osier Dogwood, <br />Arrowwood, Lilac Villosa. <br />Products including bool(s, moisture <br />retention root gel, and time-released fertilizer are <br />also offered. <br />Trees add to property value, provide <br />habitat for wildlife, and serve as natural <br />windbreal(s. TO 12:00 NOON <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey will join forces with Ace Solid Waste, Inc. to <br />sponsor the spring Ramsey Recycling Day on Saturday, April 29, 2000, <br />from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. This year's event will be held at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd NW. Please use the Nowthen <br />Blvd/County Road 5 entrance and follow the signs. <br /> <br />· No refuse of any kind will be accepted. <br />A $5.00 surcharge will be assessed for the disposal of air <br />conditioners. <br />Anoka County Community Action Program (ACCAP) will have a <br />trailer available to collect usable furniture. <br />The following items will not be accepted: electronic items, tree <br />stumps, barrels or other containers, waste oil, toxic chemicals, paint, <br />or special waste that may be identified by drop-off personnel and <br />fluorescent bulbs. <br />Bagged leaves and grass clippings will be accepted for $3.00 per <br />bag <br />No children under the age of 18 are allowed outside of vehicles at <br />the drop-off site. <br />All loads must be covered.
