RAMSEY YOUTH <br />I ATHLETIe ASSOeIATION <br />A A FALL, 2000 NEWS <br /> <br />RYAA had a successful soccer and football season with <br />approximately 500 registered players in both programs this fall. <br />New this fall was the insulation of football goalposts at Central <br />Parl<. We asl< that the resident's of Ramsey <br />support these local businesses/organizations, as they support our <br />sports programs and the children of our community. We would <br />lil<e to express our SINCERE GRATITUDE to the City of <br />Ramsey Park Employees for their support and hard worl< in <br />maintaining our soccer and football fields this fall. We couldn't <br />do it without you! <br />RYAABoard Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of <br />each month at 7:00 p.m. in the building at Central Parl<. If you <br />have an interest in our programs or have any concerns we <br />encourage you to attend our meetings. <br />The annual election of Board Members will be held on <br />Tuesday, January 30,2001, at 7:00p.m. in the building at Central <br />Parl<. All positions are open for election. Many positions will <br />be vacant at the end of this season. If you are interested in <br />providing a healthy sports environment for our children, please <br />consider becoming a member of the RYAABoard and attend <br />this most important meeting. <br />You can contact RYAA for the latest information by calling <br />our Sports Hotline at (763) 422-9555 or visiting our web site at <br />www.ryaa.org. <br />Watch for spring sports registration information in <br />the January 2001 issue of the Ramsey Resident. <br /> <br />REeREATIONAL FIRES <br />MUST BE 50' <br /> <br />FROM STRUeTURES <br /> <br /> <br />Be sure to follow the City's burning regulations <br />if winter inspires you to have a recreational fire. <br />A recreational fire is an area of no more than <br />three feet in diameter or nine square feet. It must be <br />located at least 50 feet from any structure or vehicle. <br />Burning barrels are prohibited. <br />Use only dry, clean wood. Plywood, chipboard <br />and other products containing resins or glues are strictly <br />prohibited. Painted and preservative-treated wood <br />scraps can give off toxic smoke. Don't inhale! Running <br />grass fires are prohibited, except for prairie restoration. <br />Burning leaves, grass and debris is also prohibited. <br />Recreational burning is allowed only between <br />the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Fires must be attended <br />by an adult at all times until completely extinquished. A <br />garden hose connected to water should be nearby. <br />Violations can be subject to a citation, including <br />extinguishment charges of $250 per hour. <br />Be respectful of weather conditions, neighbors, <br />burning bans, and air quality so that nuisance, health or <br />safety hazards will not be created. <br />Open fires larger than three feet in diameter <br />require a permit which can be obtained at City Hall.
