<br />4 <br /> <br />ANOKA COUNTY HOUSEHOLD <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION <br />To BE HELD APRIL 29, 2000 <br /> <br />Anol<a County is sponsoring a free household hazardous waste collection for county residents on April 29 <br />from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Anol<a County Fairgrounds, 3203 St. Francis Blvd in Anol<a. <br />For more information, call Anol<a County at 323-5730. <br />The household hazardous waste collection allows residents to safely dispose of leftover or unwanted <br />household chemicals at no charge. <br /> <br />Household hazardous wastes that will be collected include: <br /> <br />Automotive: <br /> <br />Gasoline, l<erosene and other fuels. When dispose of improperly-in the trash, down the drain or on the ground-hazardous wastes can <br />contribute to the contamination of ground water, lal<es, streams and soils. Some household hazardous wastes can <br />harm garbage haulers or cause damage to property through accidental contact. <br />Anol<a County also provides a year-round household hazardous waste facility in Blaine. The facility is located <br />at 3230 101st Avenue NE, Blaine. The HHW facility is open on Wednesdays from 2 - 8 p.m., Fridays <br />(April- October only) 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Call 323-5730 for information. <br />The Anol<a County Board of Commissioners sponsors household hazardous waste collections in cooperation <br />with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br />
